Laughing softly, Devri knew that Laine wouldn't have been the only person who might have tried to turn her into an outcast if it weren't for the fact she was humble. She could thank her upbringing for that, they kept her grounded all through her rise to the top of the ballet world, or at least as high as she was going to go. "I know," she said this with a smile. "And yes my midwestern charm saves me from a lot," she added, partially teasing and partially being serious. "Of course she did," because she wouldn't be Marie if she didn't seethe about someone else getting something she thought she rightfully deserved. "Honestly, you work better with Kris than ninety percent of the company does," it was the truth, Kris wasn't hard to dance with, it just seemed that there was a small majority of people that he partnered best with.
"If you'd like me to do that I can," she replied with a smile, always up for critiquing fellow dancers. "We're dancers, with thrive on critique," or just received it so much that it was second nature and each one of them had become accustom to it. "This is a terrible way to change topics, but has Daniel seen you dance yet?" Devri was curious about Laine's boyfriend, though she wasn't the type to push for information, at least not too strongly.
