Completion: Complete
Everyone was working today, well, everyone but Erica. It was a little surreal to be on this side of things, to be the bride that everyone was focused on, to have her friends and family there ooohing and ahhhing as she stepped out in gorgeous gowns. Pierre was in and out of the appointment, so much that it seemed like he was everywhere all at once, and Erica had been so glad that he hadn't been offended when she'd requested one of the girls be her official consultant for the appointment. As comfortable as she was with Pierre, she knew that she just wouldn't be comfortable with him helping her in and out of the dresses. She'd wanted Jula, but she didn't feel comfortable expressing that, showing any preference between the new hires, and Pierre had already given Jula an appointment on the books for the day, so she'd been given April. She liked April well enough, but it was abundantly clear that they really didn't have much in common with the overly bubbly girly-girl.
Even though she still wasn't terribly close to her grandmother, she was glad that Eleanor had come up for this; she knew how much it meant to her to be here. Part of it was, Erica thought, that she just didn't know what having family was supposed to feel like, so having family now was just still a little weird to her. But then, Ezra and Neve felt like family, too, and Ena was going to be her sister-in-law, so she supposed everyone she'd brought along with her was family in some way to her. She was just glad that they'd all managed to work this into her schedules, as she would have been disappointed if any one of them hadn't been able to make it, even if Ezra looked so out of his element here.
Erica had already tried on several beautiful dresses, but even though she didn't really have anything in mind for what she wanted to wear, none of them had felt right. In the dressing room, she'd decided to get into the dresses facing away from the mirror, because she wanted to see the dresses on her for the first time when everyone else got to see them. It might have seemed a little weird, but it was just how she wanted to do it. The dress wasn't nearly as important to her as the fact that at the end of the ceremony, she'd be married to J.J. She came out of the dressing room next wearing a gorgeous strapless gown with flowered beading, excited to see how it looked on her because she'd loved how it looked hanging in the dressing room. She stood up on the pedestal in the center of the viewing area, facing the mirror, her lips parting in a silent gasp. "Wow," she breathed, fingertips trailing over the band wrapped around her waist. "What do you guys think?" she asked the group.
