With the dinosaurs and rogue plantlife out of the way, it'd been easier to breathe. Easier to focus on the more important things-- like the baby currently cradled in Pasithea's arms. The morning had been long, but after they'd managed to crawl out of bed, they'd made their way to the hospital for a much-needed check up. As they waited for the doctor to show up, Hypnos broke the silence with a kiss to the top of Pasithea's head. "It's strange... having a girl." A gentle hand grazed the top of their little one's fragile head. "We've always had boys." ~*~ They'd survived the dinosaurs, and everything else Khaos had thrown at them, and for that Pasithea was thankful. Even more importantly, thanks to the timely assistance of Mary, Freyja, and Igraine, she was able to bring a baby girl into the world without too much trouble, which is something she was grateful for. It was hard for her to stop staring at their little one, it was almost as if Pasithea was afraid she'd disappear if they weren't careful. She glanced up at Hypnos, smiling softly. "Yeah, but it feels right. She's ours, our first one in this life." ~*~ "Yeah... it's a little surreal," he admitted, mirroring that smile. After taking his place in a kneel before the two of them, he took up one of Dani's tiny hands in his own. "I know Zurvan wasn't a real place, but... I'm glad of all the things we could have brought back, it was her." His thumb stroked the back of her hand. "And I'm glad we get to be there for her from the beginning." ~*~ "It's crazy," she agreed softly, still surprised that they were parents. Blinking for a moment when Hypnos knelt before them, she nodded at his words. "She's like our prize for putting up with all the weirdness and staying strong no matter what." She leaned forward to kiss him. "She's our little miracle, she's survived so much already. I can't wait to introduce her to your family." ~*~ Her kiss was gently returned. "We can thank her mother for that," he pointed out, turning his attention to their newborn. A soft kiss was pressed to her forehead. "I wonder what Thanatos will do or say..." And when he smiled, it was clear he already knew what his twin would do. Be awkward, for one. But it was hardly his brother's fault. "My family can wait." One hand came out to cover Pasithea's. "Right now, this is our moment." |
