Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Marcus & Lisa
What: Talking?!?!! D: D: D:
Where: Table Two, Tea Room!
When: Monday Morn.

Marcus never did work, really. He just gave his wand some instructions and they went. But he was in the middle of chowing down on a Sticky Bun when he got the message from Lisa. He shoved the rest into his mouth and rushed right out into the Tea Room, where he saw his best friend sitting at Table Two. Thank god there was nobody in except them yet.

"URMPH HHRAI," he ran over to her with his mouth still full of cinnamon and sugar. "WHARTS RHEE OCCASION?"

"It was last night after I stayed late to help you clean up. I saw that bar and I went in. And. Well." She bit her lip but knew she had to tell him. "I saw Roger."

"YOU FUCKED ROGER?!" he said loudly, standing up out of his seat.

Okay. NOW he was angry. She fucked Roger?! That stuffy, three-piece suit, shit-eating grin bastard Roger?! What good was he?!

"YOU'RE HIS BABYSITTER!" A few remnants of sticky bun flew out of his mouth.

Lisa blinked at his outburst. She was showered with both spit and sticky bun. Gently, she wiped at her face before continuing.

"I helped him home. He was completely over his alcoholic limit. He could hardly walk. And then I was trying to get him in bed and he just sort of...kissed me and then it happened." She shrugged as if it was no big deal.

"And please don't say that word. You know I hate it."

"OH, MERLIN!" He raised his arms up and sighed with dramatic exasperation.

Marcus put his face in his palm, rubbing his temples, trying to process what had happened. He wanted to tell her how stupid she was, that she had made a TERRIBLE mistake! And please, he wasn't going to spare her from the cursing now. He was going to curse all he wanted to!

He looked up and pointed wagged a finger at her. "YOU WEREN'T EVEN THE DRUNK ONE! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!" She was talking like this was no big deal. How COULD she?

IT WAS A HUGE DEAL!

Lisa felt the urge to cry, but she kept her eyes from watering. She didn't want to give Marcus the impression that he was getting to her. Truth be told, she actually felt completely horrible about what she'd done. What little self respect must she have had to give it all up in a second to some bloke who, quite frankly, didn't notice her when he was sober. She frowned.

"I wasn't thinking," she replied, like a child replied to a scolding mother. She looked down and folded her hands in front of her.

"Well DUH," he said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. He looked at her with a furrowed brow. She looked like she was about to turn on the waterworks and this softened him considerably. Marcus realized that he wasn't doing his job as a friend and took a moment to cool down.

He was still pissed off though.

"Sigh," he said outloud, sighing along with it. "What are we going to do about this, huh? You can't keep working for him. That's awkward."

"Do you think this means he likes me?" She wasn't naive in most areas. This one, though, she was completely clueless. "I mean. I don't know." She sighed too, and leaned on her palm.

"He called me beautiful and said I had sparkly eyes." She laughed.

"Uhm, he was also pissed as fuck," he shot back venomously. His hand was tightly gripping the back of his head.

Her giddiness was frustrating. He wanted her to go back to the almost crying face. "He probably just liked your titties. And that's it."

"Well, at least someone likes them," she harrumphed, leaning back in her chair and crossing her arms. "You're just jealous that I had intercourse and you have had any in a while." A beat. "We came at the same time." She couldn't help a smile.

Oh, well fuck her if she was going to bring it down to that.

"Fuck you," he replied angrily. "At least I don't have to get someone drunk in order to get them to notice me." He'd never been more annoyed with that smile in his life. To think that he used to find it cute and adorable!

She frowned. That was exactly how she'd been feeling since she'd woken up that morning. She wanted to tell Marcus so that he could tell her that she wasn't stupid and that Roger really did like her. Instead, he was getting judgemental and angry. He was supposed to be her best friend, wasn't he? Best friends didn't make people feel worse about things. They tried to make them see reason, maybe. But making them purposely feel worse...that wasn't nice at all.

"I'm sorry you feel that way," she mumbled and took another sip of her coffee.

He sighed. Again. Her being sad made him sad again. What a roller coaster morning this turned out to be! And how she had an affect on his emotions with a simple look on her face.

Fine. She fucked Roger. Great. He had to get over it and be her friend. Because that's what he was. Her friend. And that's all. Just more reason why she'd never be with him.

His chair legs screeched against the floor as he took a seat in it again, letting the silence take precedence for a few moments.

"You'll have to realize that he might not feel the same way," he began quietly after staring at the broken skin on his thumbs. "He was drunk, after all. Guys don't realize things when they're drunk."

"Are you mad at me?" Lisa peeked over the top of her coffee mug at Marcus. He still looked peeved, but she paid it no mind. "I knew I should have stopped. I kept saying so in my head. But he was so insistent, and you know how I feel about him..." Her words drifted off.

"What if I see him today?"

"Mmrph," was his response. That's how he felt. Of course he was still mad. This was the last thing he ever wanted to hear, but he was going to do it because he was her friend. Ugh.

"If you see him, then you don't talk about it. Although I doubt that you will," Guys didn't want to be reminded about the regretful things they did when drunk so they avoided running into whoever they did. Although he didn't connect with Roger, he was pretty sure that this was something he'd regret. "Pretend everything's normal. Let him talk about it. Especially if you went down on him or something. He'd probably remember that."

Marcus added that last bit on out of curiosity. It wasn't entirely true, but he had a morbid fascination about what they did exactly. He wanted to hear all of it. In detail. Even if it hurt him.

Lisa shook her head. "I didn't do that," she said, nonchalantly. He hardly had patience for any sort of anything but sticking it in her. Not exactly an ideal time, but she wasn't complaining. "But, so I just act like nothing happened and if he brings it up, then it's a good thing?" She bit her lip. What if he didn't bring it up? Did that mean he didn't like her?

Lisa felt like a child. She felt like a teenage girl with her first boyfriend. It was pathetic. She hated it.

"Er," he tilted his head. "Not exactly. You have to realize that he was drunk. People don't usually do things they normally do when drunk. If he brings it up, it might be a negative thing too."

Shit. She frowned. "Why does it have to be negative? Why can't he be like 'Lisa, you were fantastic with the intercourse, can we do it again please?' Geez. Last night was a mistake, wasn't it?"

"Yeah, I wish you realized that before it happened though," he snarked. There was a clump of hair in her eye that bothered him. He brought two fingers up to her face to try to swat it out.

"You--There's some hair in your face. You didn't go home last night, did you."

Kaira had come in early for work, having nothing better to do and hoping she could get an extra shift in. Holding back a yawn she thought it best to visit Marcus and Lisa, maybe get a tea before she went off to be a slave to her job. Of course, she hadn't meant to overhear what she'd overheard.

She hadn't noticed Marcus and Lisa at the table until she was almost directly at it, and judging from their raised voices and the actual lack of other people, they'd thought they were alone. Oh Merlin, Roger?

Playing it off like she hadn't heard anything at all, Kaira cleared her throat, letting out a dramatic yawn as she smiled brightly at the two. "Hey guys," she chirped, "this looks cosy," the smile was almost painful as she gestured to the two of them. As if anyone could pretend to to notice the distress on both their faces. "Serving tea?" she questioned.

Marcus jerked his hand back from Lisa's face and turned to look at the voice as if he had been caught doing something taboo. Kaira popped up out of nowhere. Oh shit. Was she here the whole time?

"Tea?" He couldn't process what was happening. "Oh! Right. Tea! I'll go right ahead and do that. Erm. Sit tight." He gave her a nervous grin and shot up out of there and into the kitchen to grab a cup.
