Emma's tree was lit and she was lighting a few candles around her flat. It was late Christmas Eve and Tim was coming over for the night and she wanted things to be nice. There was gifts under the tree and there was a plate of homemade cookies (from the deli, not made by Emma!) and a steaming pot of hot chocolate staying hot with charms on tray on her coffee table. It was very homey and Christmasy, she thought. At the knock at the door, she checked on her hair in the mirror, straightened her red velvet dress before she opened the door.
