What? Hermione visits Lavender and baby Katie

Lavender yawned and stretched as she swung her legs off to bed, rising to her feet. She was taking a potion to help her stay relaxed and help her body to heal, but for the most part she was healing on her own and she was still sore. Giving birth was not easy, she decided, walking slowly across her room to the small cradle where Katherine slept, her tiny fist curled against her cheek.

Kevin had left only a few moments ago to make arrangements at the recording studio. He was taking some time off and Lavender was grateful for that. She wasn't alone long when there was a knock at the door and a familiar face appeared in the room. "Hi," she smiled over at Hermione.

	Hermione smirked softy, nodding. She couldn't imagine Lavender finding anyone for her. There wasn't really anyone for her. Only Ron. She leaned over to watch the baby get comfortable. "She's so sweet." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"I've read that newborn infants enjoy bright, contrasting colors, because it's all they can see. And that black and white get the most of their attention, because it has the most contrast." 	"You're so smart," she smiled over at Hermione. Lavender knew who was going to teach Katie how to read, that was for sure. 	Hermione blinked at Lavender. So smart? Really? Well, she knew she was pretty smart, but... it was strange to hear it when she was simply being logical. "Do you swaddle her?" Hermione asked, interested. She'd read that babies enjoyed being swaddled--it reminded them of the cramped space of the womb. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"The nurse taught me how, yesterday," Lavender said as she moved Katie to a soft pink blanket. "I learned a lot in two days!" she giggled, folding and tucking the blanket around Katie, the baby's eyes blinking and shifting as she was swaddled up. "She looked like a buritto..."
