Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Cho and Michael
When: Monday Night
Where: Cho's Flat
What: Hanging out

Cho hadn't managed to do much with her day off besides shower and throw on some comfortable yoga pants and an old tee shirt. Very few people saw Cho this relaxed, but Michael was one of them. She simply didn't feel the need to impress him after everything they had been through together.

After he agreed to come by, Cho made sure her romance novels were thrown into her bedroom. That room was still a mess, but with the door shut Michael would be none the wiser. His surprise was in an envelope on her counter and Cho left the door to her flat cracked slightly. Sitting on the sofa, Cho flipped through a Quidditch magazine while she waited for Michael to arrive.

"Because I didn't want to get up," she said with a smirk and didn't bother looking up from her magazine. There was an article about the Tornadoes and she was always a loyal fan of her team. "Take your shoes off," she demanded with a smirk. "I also don't feel like cleaning up after you."

Finally she looked up from her magazine and grinned. Cho had been in a great mood the last few weeks, which was unusual. She wasn't snapping at anyone and hadn't cried in well over a month. It had to be some sort of record.

Michael toed off his shoes and crossed the floor to the sofa. He sat down next to her and looked over her shoulder at what she was reading. "Tornadoes?" She'd always liked them. He was a pretty big Harpies supporter, except for one player on the team. "So what's my surprise?" He leaned back and put his arms behind his head.

"Is there any other team?" Though, truth be told she had been to quite a few Arrows matches and practises lately, but that had a lot more to do with dating a player than it did supporting their team. "It's on the counter," she said and dropped her magazine onto the coffee table. "Do you want something to drink?" Cho walked across the spacious living room and grabbed the envelope off of the counter before disappearing into the kitchen.

Michael closed his eyes, only peeking them open as she got off the sofa and moved to the kitchen. "Sure. What do you have?" He could go for something alcoholic.

Cho moved around the kitchen, pulling a bottle of ale out for Michael and pouring herself a glass of merlot. By now she knew what he did and didn't like. Walking back into the living room carrying the drinks and his gift, Cho handed him the ale first before settling down on the sofa next to him.

Really, she wasn't sure what made her decide to give the tickets to Michael, but she had decided instantley. "Here," she said with a smile. "You get these on one condition. You have to bring me along." With that said, Cho gave him the gift. And it was an impressive gifts. Box seats at the next Ireland versus England Quidditch match.

"Thanks," Michael said, taking the ale from her, uncorking it and taking a large swig. It was delicious. Cho always knew just what he wanted. "So. This is it?" He listened to her conditions before tearing open the envelope. Tickets! "Is this an early Christmas gift? Or do you just really love me?" It was a great present. He was deliriously happy. "Thanks, Cho." He leaned over and hugged her. It was something he rarely did, but felt this occasion called for it.

When he let go, he took another sip of his ale. "So, why are you so generous and happy these days?" He hadn't seen her this happy since...well. It had been a while.

Cho couldn't help the small thrill she felt when Michael hugged her. Even though she knew it was completely and utterly stupid to have any feelings for Michael, Cho never managed to get rid of them all together. She could only hope he had no idea.

"Just because. I got the tickets and figured you'd like to go with me. Not many people still appreciate a good Quidditch match." Cho sipped at her wine and wondered how Michael was going to react to the reason behind her good mood. "I'm seeing someone," she said as plainly as she could manage. "I bet that has a lot to do with it."

"Just because," he repeated. "That's a damn good reason, I s'pose." He smirked and leaned back against the sofa once more. He took a small sip of his ale, nursing it for now. He wasn't trying to get drunk. He had a shift in the morning. "I love a good quiddy match."

At Cho's next statement, the smile disappeared off of Michael's face. She was seeing someone? He was jealous. He couldn't help it. He'd dated Cho for a while. He probably would always have a little something for her. Even if she cried a lot and was sometimes a total nuisance. "Seeing someone? So what, you're getting laid on the regular and suddenly, the sun shines brighter?" He was snarky, but it was easier than being obvious. "Who is it?"

Lovely. Cho had a feeling that news wasn't going to go over well. Not that she would have reacted much better if Michael had told her he was seeing someone. "His name is David." Cho sipped at her wine and tried her best not to get an attitude with Michael. That didn't quite work.

"It has nothing to do with getting laid. It has everything to do with someone treating me well." The accusation was barely hidden in her tone.

Michael nodded, feeling the hidden jab poke him where it hurt. "Right. Well. I hope David treats you just dandy." He took a larger gulp of his ale then, obviously peeved. Why had she asked him to come over? Why hadn't she asked her boyfriend? Then it hit him.

"Why aren't you taking David to this game?" He held up the tickets.

Cho wanted to point out that if Michael disliked the idea of her seeing someone he shouldn't have dumped her. She managed to hold he tongue by the grace of Merlin.

"Because he'll be playing. That's how I got the tickets." Cho set her glass down and turned to face Michael. She knew this conversation could end badly, but she tried her best not to get too upset. "I wanted you to come with because I like spending time with you and we hardly ever see each other."

"So. We're going to go sit and watch your boyfriend play Quidditch, and I'm supposed to sit there and enjoy it?" Michael thought for a moment. How long could this relationship actually last? Not long, he figured. He could probably gain some points with her if he pretended to support her. It was going to be hard. Michael was very, very jealous. But...he wasn't a bad actor either. He'd figure something out.

"Fine. I'll go. And I'll be nice to this bloke. He's doing something right anyways." Like keeping her from crying. He liked the happy Cho.

Her head was started to hurt. Cho really wished Michael wasn't such a prat, but at the same time she felt a bit of smug satisfaction over how upset he was. Not that she'd admit that to him.

"I'm not going to only spend time with you when I'm single, Michael. We're friends, aren't we?" Okay, truth be told Cho wasn't entirely sure what Michael considered her, but she figured 'friend' was safe. "And what do you mean he's doing something right?"

"I don't know," he said, shrugging. "I just mean you're...you know, happy for once." He rubbed the back of his neck, holding in a grin. This was easier than he thought. "I'm glad you found someone that doesn't make you cry all the time." He didn't mean it as a dig. He hoped she wouldn't take it as such.

She was a lot happier than she had been the last few months, but Cho didn't know if that was all due to David. Maybe it was. Then again, maybe she was simply sick of being upset.

"I don't like crying, you know." She didn't. She hated being emotional all the time. Cho knew how crazy it made her look. "But lately nothing has really upset me. I mean aside from..." Cho cut herself off quickly and took another drink of her wine.

Michael actually did think Cho enjoyed crying. She did it enough to come off as a hobby to him. "From...what?" He narrowed his eyes at her. Was she keeping something from him?

"Well..." Cho wasn't sure if she should be open with Michael. They seemed to be getting along for the most part and she really didn't want to mess that up.

Oh to hell with it. She never bothered to keep her opinions to herself before. Why start now? "I haven't cried since after we slept together."

Michael nodded and then looked at her oddly. "Wait. Me and you, slept together? Or you and Dale?" He'd forgotten his name already. Or just not bothered to get it right. Cho could decide for herself.

"Yes, you and I." There was no point in correcting Michael on David's name. Either he didn't care or didn't care to remember. Cho stood up and collected her glass. It wouldn't be smart to drink anything else and she knew that. Then again, Cho never made smart decisions when she was around Michael. Walking into the kitchen she refilled her glass and took a large sip before returning to the living room.

"Maybe you just bring it out in me."

Michael was rather pleased with himself. While she was in the kitchen, he had a little laugh at David's expense. He couldn't help feeling a bit smug. Though, if he could get her to stop being so twatty now, why couldn't he stop her from crying back when they'd dated? He shrugged to no one but himself.

"Sounds fair. I mean...look at me," he said, holding his arms out so she could get a good look. He winked at her and took another sip of his ale.

Rolling her eyes lightly, Cho sat down next to him. "I've seen you before," she pointed out. "All of you. So I really don't need to look again, do I?" Cho smirked over at Michael. Not that there was anything wrong with how he looked, but she wasn't going to sit there and look him over.

Michael wiggled his eyebrows over the ale bottle. "I s'pose not. I'm sure that image is burned in your mind." He grinned and draped an arm on the back of the sofa.

Cho laughed in spite of herself. Michael was a charmer and he could always make her laugh when he wasn't going out of his way to be rude to her.

"No one has a higher opinion of yourself than you do, that's for certain." Without really thinking about it, Cho settled herself closer to him. It felt natural to lean against him like that.

Michael didn't even think anything of it. He just sipped his ale. "Of course I do." He had reason to.

Cho looked up at him and frowned. "My opinion of myself is high enough, thank you." Granted it would've been higher if she hadn't failed miserably at becoming a healer, but still. She liked herself just fine.

He rolled his eyes. "I was planning on it," he said, standing from the sofa and holding out a hand to her. "I don't want to sleep on the couch though. Let's go to your bed, yeah?" He needed a proper sleep. He had work in the morning.

Taking his hand, Cho had to wonder why Michael couldn't be this nice when she was available? She liked Michael when he was like this. Lacing their fingers together, Cho let Michael lead them back to her bedroom. Thank Rowena the room was mostly clean. It would have been awful if her dirty clothes were all over the place.

She walked around to one side of the bed and climbed in between the sheets. She had to admit she was a bit excited and axious to sleep next to Michael. She looked up at him with a soft smile and waited for him to join her.

Michael had to wonder why Cho couldn't be this happy when she was available. He liked the non-crying, less-emotional version of Cho. She was more fun to be around.

When they reached her bedroom, he watched her settle in before pulling off his sweatshirt. He didn't like to sleep with a shirt on. It usually got too hot. And it was bound to be warm when he was cuddling with someone.

He climbed in next, settling in until he was comfortable and wrapping an arm around Cho's middle. He had a smug look on his face as he nuzzled against her neck. David wasn't laying in bed with her. He was.

Cho knew she really shouldn't be doing this. She was seeing someone and having a man sleep in her bed was wrong no matter how she looked at it. But she couldn't be bothered to say no or pull away from Michael. Especially when he nuzzled her neck so perfectly.

Being small had its advantages and one of them was how easy it was to curl up against Michael. She hadn't forgotten how much she enjoying sharing a bed with him. Her lips were so close to his chest and Cho was tempted to kiss him, but that was a line she couldn't bring herself to cross.
