Lisa heard a knock. It seemed entirely too soon for Roger to be there. She had hardly finished her make-up! She wasn't even wearing shoes! Cussing quietly to herself, and angry at Marcus for choosing tonight to go out with his friends, she hurried. "Coming," she called, trying not to make him wait too long at the door.

She slipped on a pair of modest heels to match her dress and fastened her earrings as she walked towards the door. Composing herself, she shook her hair and exhaled. Then, she opened the door.

The first thing she noticed was that Roger looked nice. "Hi," she said after a few seconds of staring.

	"You know," he said, with a slight touch of amusement in his voice. "I think you're my best friend." Most of his friends only went out drinking with him, leeching off of the girls who came sniffing at Roger. Then there was Leanne. She was a new friend. Lisa was the one who was always there for him. 	"Yeah?" Besides Marcus, Roger was probably her best friend as well. Not many girls wanted to hang out with Lisa. She wasn't the gossip type, she didn't follow Quidditch or Witch Weekly and she spent most of her time at the hospital or at Roger's with Brighton. There wasn't a whole lot of time for girl bonding. Roger hesitated. When he pulled her up from the dip he was a bit awkward. He had resolved to start being better to himself, to allow himself to be happy. The heavy drinking, the isolation, all of it had to stop or he'd make himself and Brighton miserable. Nothing and no one was guaranteed to be here tomorrow, right?

But would he forget her if he moved on with his life?

Roger had stopped dancing. He was stuck in thought, his arms around Lisa.

She would have smiled but her eyes fell upon his eye and she frowned instead. "Oh Roger. That looks terrible." She made a face. "Does it hurt a lot? Maybe we should get the ice or-- oh! I think I have some bruise reduction cream from the Weasley's store." She paused thinking. It was sitting on her night stand. She would apparate home and get it. Yes. Roger needed it much more than she did. "I'm going to apparate home real quick and get it for you."
