Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Leanne and Katie
When: Saturday morning
Where: Cafe
What: Coffee Date

Leanne arrived early to the coffee shop. She'd worn an old t-shirt and jeans, trying her best not to care about her appearance--at least, not to look like she cared. She wanted things to get back to normal with her best friend, though she knew that was probably asking too much. She'd pretty much ruined everything with her admission.

The worst part of it all was that she still had feelings. Sure, they'd died down a little over time and awkwardness, but she was still in love.

She was sitting in a rather comfortable armchair in the back of the cafe, nursing a tall cup of tea and a scone. How was this not going to be awkward?

"Well, if they only intended a tiny explosion, then they probably a bit ashamed of themselves. I mean, missed Draco completely, killed a few people. Kind of a botched job. But the source of the explosion was materials from his cabinet and that poor intern won't be able to ever tell us what he was doing."

Leanne nodded. She gave a shiver, then set her tea down on the table.

"Poor Neville." She commented softly.

"It's like he's lost them twice, y'know?" Only this time Neville was old enough to process the loss.

"Only worse. He lost them, but sort of had them, but never really had them, and lost them again." Leanne couldn't imagine. She was so very close with all her family.

"More complicated than I'll ever understand. I've got two parents and they both made it through the war." Katie shook her head. "As if his life hadn't been rough enough.

Leanne nodded. She normally only lost family members to old age. The MacFusty Clan sticked together, and stayed to themselves. Most of the time.

"I can't even imagine what he's going through."

Katie tapped her fingers on the table. The sad topic had diverted them temporarily, but now she wasn't sure what else to say to Leanne. It was hard not to have everything be coloured by her confession.

Leanne went quiet, too. She sipped.

"I've been spending time with Roger and Brighton. Do you know them well?"

"Davies? Not really since school. But God, he's nice to look at." Katie grinned. "Nothing like a well-dressed man.

"He is. Very." Leanne was attracted to him, she couldn't deny it. Was it that he was so good-looking, or was it that he was such an amazing family man? It didn't really matter to her.

But her heart really belonged to someone else. "Nothing like it. Especially not a well dressed man who's good with his kid."

"I forget sometimes that the ladies man of our class has a kid. Weird." Katie crinkled her nose. "Makes me feel old."

"Yeah. Makes me wonder if we grew up as well as he did." Leanne dfeinitely thought Katie did. She grew up beautifully.

"Well, being a parent forces you to grow up quick, right? Except maybe Lizzy. She always seemed like a mum, even when we were kids." Katie leaned back in her chair.

"I suppose so." Leanne nodded. She started wondering if she was ever going to be a mom, or if she was destined to take care of her little cousins and second cousins for the rest of her life.

"Either way, he's still hot. Maybe hotter than when he was in school. His face isn't as round as it used to be." And he had a decent amount of five-o-clock shadow. Katie was attracted to masculinity. Hence Leanne's problem.

Leanne nodded enthusiastically. "He's got strong cheekbones." She could appreciate that in a man, even if she liked long, blonde hair and breasts, too.

"And a nice tight butt." This felt normal for Katie, gossiping about boys. It was good to have some normalcy with Leanne again. She just tried not to think about the fact that Leanne also liked breasts.

Leanne gave a laugh. "A really nice, tight butt." She said. It was true, he did have a fantastic backside. She sorta wanted to squeeze it.

"I'd take Roger's arse, Kevin Entwhistle's torso... Harry Potter's eyes... Tim Blekinsop's hands..." Katie was piecing together the perfect hospital employee in her mind now.

"That's why I didn't take his arse. He has really nice, chiseled hands. And long fingers," Katie said with a blush.

Leanne was bright red now from laughter and embarrassment. After another minute, she finally controlled herself.

"No. Honestly, Katie. Me? Kinky?" She shook her head.

"Well, it doesn't apply to this situation." Leanne said, letting the smirk come back to her features.

"I think it's kinda gross, actually."
