Who? Lavender and OTA When? Monday night Where? Outside the Leaky Cauldron What? Lavender returns with shocking news Rating? TBD
It was late, well past sunset and Lavender's captor, Neal, had yet to return for the day to bring her food. She was hungry and so was the baby. She was tired and needed a bath, but too tired to move off the couch. Not after she started to doze she heard the lock turn and sat up as the door opened. Lavender sat up and noted he didn't have a bag of food. "Where's dinner?" she asked in a quiet voice. She'd given up trying to get out weeks ago - she no longer had the energy most days.
When he fully entered the room, Lavender noted that his wand was out and her heart skipped a beat, noting the look in his eyes. "It's over... over..." he whispered. "It was never going to work and it was never going to get me anywhere... once your baby is born... they're going to study it... and you... the Ministry will lock me up... it's better this way..."
Lavender rose to her feet, backing away from him. "No... no..." she begged softly, placing her hand over her swollen belly. At a seven months, Lavender was more than visibly pregnant. "Don't do this... I won't tell anyone that it was you! I swear! Just... just let me go back to my husband!" A week prior, they'd caught up with her present and he'd been scared that they were going to find them. He'd started coming around less and less but she didn't think he was going to kill her!
"Shut up!" he shouted, pointing the wand at her. Lavender was crying now, grasping the back of the couch, trying to plead for her life. He ran his fingers through his hair, pacing for a moment and Lavender moved further away. "I was supposed to become famous for my research! Not a fugitive! You... this is your fault!" he shouted. Lavender cried out when he pointed the wand again. "You and your famous husband! I... I can't do this anymore! I won't go to Azkaban for this! I won't!" His eyes were wild and he shoved the couch out of the way, advancing on Lavender who was backing away until he had her pinned to the wall. He breathed close to hear ear, tears were rolling down her face and she could feel the wand pressed to her neck. "You'd better run now... before I change my mind," he breathed against her ear.
Lavender's eyes met his for a split second and then she was running - across the room and out the door. Before she was down the hall she turned for a split second and saw a green flash and heard the thud of a body hitting the ground. Crying hysterically, Lavender ran down the stairs as fast as she could, adrenaline pumping through her veins to keep her moving until she was outside, breathing in the night air - just outside the Leaky Cauldron in Muggle London. "Help!" she cried, falling to her knees, sobbing hysterically because she was finally free of the nightmare.
