Who: Astoria and Draco
When: After his journal post
Where: Draco's place
What: Draco's promised to cook

Tori stopped in front of the mirror for a long moment before heading out of her flat. She was worried about how she looked. It was a bit strange; more than the normal vanity. She wanted to look good for Draco. Normally she wanted to look good simply because she wanted to look good.

When she was satisfied that she looked amazing, she headed out her front door and apparated to Draco's front step. After she got her bearings, she knocked on his door.

Tori blushed. It was a real blush, a shy blush, and it came with a genuinely bashful smile. "Thank you."

She got a whiff of the smells coming from his place before she even crossed the threshold. It nearly took her breath away. "What did you make?" She asked, already salivating.

"Homemade spaghetti and meatballs. I would say it's a family recipe, but it's not. I got it out of some muggle cookbook. I made the noodles and the meatballs by hand though. Extra love in yours," he said, stepping to the side to allow her in.

"Can I take your cloak?" He was being awfully gentlemanly. He wasn't sure why, he just felt compelled.

That was... sweet. It was a lot of attention, Tori thought. More than she was used to, especially by Draco Malfoy of all people. He was so dreamy. Why was he paying so much attention to her?

She gave a nod, lifting her hands to unclasp the cloak at her neck. Her dress underneath was even more stunning. "Thank you." She turned her back to him so he could take the cloak.

When she turned her back to him, Draco made a weird throaty sound. His mouth dropped open at the sight of her bare back, covered only by two thin straps that were holding her dress up. It was more than he could handle, and he could handle a lot.

"Uh," he stammered, but only slightly. "Want to sit and eat now? Or shall we have a drink and chat first?"

"Either way." A drink might be nice, actually, she thought. Break the ice a little. She still wasn't sure why Draco invited her over. The insane crush she'd had on him while they were in school together was coming back in full force.

"Do you have wine?"

"I do. Red or white?" He reached into one of his cabinets and pulled out two pristine wine glasses. His flat might not have been huge or full of the lavish things he wished it was filled with, but the things he did have, he kept clean.

"If you want to head to the living room, I can pour this and bring it in. Unless you want to stay in the kitchen. Up to you." He felt twitchy. And very aware of himself. He didn't like it. And was it warm in there? Draco felt very warm.

Tori gave a little nod. "I'll go sit. White?" She said, turning her back to him. "Whatever you have is fine."

It was a bit warmer in the kitchen than the living room, but it wasn't that warm. She liked imagining that he was watching her body as she slipped into the other room and took a seat on his sofa.

Oh, he was watching her. She didn't have to bother imagining him. He was staring at every inch of her as she walked into the next room. Biting his lip, he turned his attention back to the wine. The white wine he had in his house was definitely not as fancy as what he'd bought when they ate out. It was just a simple chardonnay. He poured a bit in their glasses and followed her in.

"Here you go," Draco said, handing her the glass and taking a seat next to her.

Tori accepted the glass and gave him a little smile. "Thank you." She sipped, then sipped again.

"How was the service?" She asked, wondering if she should have brought up his father or if that was a stupid thing to do.

"Empty," he said. He swirled his glass a few times before taking a sip. "Mum reckons anyone who would have come, died. Or were too embarrassed to show." Draco thought his father just didn't have that many fans. He hoped he'd have more than his wife at his own funeral.

"He was just a jackass." He was brooding but he didn't care.

"I'm sorry." Tori said, deciding she needed a bit more wine. She gulped from her glass, then lowered it to stop herself drinking it all in one go. She was nervous.

"I'm sure your Mum was glad you were there."

"I was only there for her. Not him," he said, sounding more dark and sinister than he meant to be. Truth was, not a lot of people knew what Lucius had put Draco through. Or Narcissa for that matter. And Draco wasn't about to dive into it. Not when he had a beautiful woman sitting on his couch drinking wine.

"Anyways. How was your week?"

"It was all right." She said, giving a little shrug. "I was worried about you, actually." She confessed, looking over at him. "I'm really glad that you wrote to me today."

Why did her cheeks have to burn so much?

"I'm glad you're here. It's been lonely. My mum's flat isn't the easiest place to stay." He took another sip of his wine and watched her. She was turning a very adorable shade of pink.

"Are you warm?"

"Must be the wine." Tori said, turning to smile at him. She was a little embarrassed to admit how much she wanted to see him--how worried she'd been. Hopefully he'd believe her when she said it was the wine.

She had another sip. Er, gulp.

"I watched the television with Adrian." She said, hoping for a subject change.

The subject change made Draco want to gulp his own wine. Which he did.

"Really? How was that?" He really didn't want to hear about Adrian when he was on a date with Tori, but he felt compelled to ask. Call it curiosity, if you will, but it was mostly the fact that he wanted to out do Adrian tonight.

"The television is fascinating." Tori said, breaking into a smile. "I love the wand--the... remote." She corrected herself, remembering the word. "It makes the pictures change."

She didn't know how much Draco knew about televisions.

He only knew what Adrian had showed him, but he did know enough to know they weren't pictures. "What show did you watch?"

Probably something stupid. Or Draco assumed.

"Well, when he first turned it on, there was a man cooking." She'd been so fascinated in trying to figure out how it worked, she hadn't paid much attention to what was actually on the television.

"Do you enjoy watching television?" She asked, lifting her wine glass for another sip. It turned into a gulp, though, as she felt nervous again. She probably shouldn't have mentioned Adrian.

Draco shrugged. "It's alright." In all honestly, he wasn't really a fan. This was mostly due in part because Adrian forced him to watch it periodically. It was often against his will, and therefore not enjoyed. But he could certainly appreciate it for what it was. Sometimes muggles had interesting inventions.

"Adrian and I will watch it sometimes."

Tori could think of a couple things she could be forced to do that she'd enjoy. But watching television wasn't really one of those.

"Maybe sometime we could all watch together?" She suggested. Immediately she regretted suggesting it. Being in the same room with two blokes she fancied, who she'd sort of dated?

He forced a smile. "Sounds peachy," he said, with a little too much fake enthusiasm. He busied himself with his wine glass to avoid further shoving his foot in his mouth.

"Shall we eat?" He stood now, done with the conversation as it was definitely taking a turn for the worse. Food always made things better.

Tori paused at his all-too enthusastic response. She was going to say something else, but then he invited her to wat.

"That sounds lovely." She said, deciding a change of subject would be good. She pulled herself up off the sofa and started into the kitchen with him.

shall we fast forward through the eating?

The table was already set, a candle was lit, and the food was still steaming hot and waiting for them. He pulled a chair out for Astoria. It wouldn't do for her to have to pull it out herself. Draco was a gentleman, after all.

"M'lady."

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Sounds good to me. :)

Tori beamed as she slipped into the chair. She gave him a "thank you" and put her napkin on her lap.

The food was delicious. With a full tummy and another glass of wine, Tori was feeling very happy and very sleepy by the meal's end.

She set her glass down and smiled over to Draco. "I never knew you were such an amazing chef."

"There's a lot of things I prefer to keep to myself," he said, holding his glass up before finishing it off. He was feeling better since their little awkward exchange in the living room. Eating definitely made him comfortable. He leaned back and surveyed Astoria.

"I never knew you were so appreciative." He was joking, of course.

Tori gave a little laugh. "I'm always appreciative!" She said, grinning. "You just never notice." She added, raising an eyebrow.

"That's true, I s'pose," he replied, giving her a little nudge. "I'll tell ya, though. I'm right full. Could do with a nap." He was tired, but he didn't want the night to end. Astoria was a beautiful girl who happened to enjoy his company. There weren't many of those as of late, and Draco wasn't about to push one out the door.

No problem. :) Didn't want to forget about it, and I needed something to post for her. xD

"I didn't mean it like that." Draco sat up quickly, nearly knocking over his glass in the process. Once it was steadied, he cleared his throat and tried again. "I mean. I'm not going to stop you if you want to go, but I wasn't trying to usher you out or anythin'," he said, hoping this got his point across better.

"It's all right." Tori said, smiling softly. She was flattered that he wanted her to stay. "I figure I'll stay and finish my wine." She said, swirling her glass once so he could see. She had about half a glass left.

That sounded like a plan. He smiled and nodded, watching her swirl her wine. "Have you been really busy during work?" He wasn't sure if he'd asked her already, but suddenly he was drawing a blank of what to talk about that didn't include the name Adrian.

"Ah right. I should have known." He hung his head for a moment in thought. Was he nervous? Why was it this hard to talk to someone? He didn't normally get flustered like he was getting now. It was odd.

"Don't work too hard," he said, bringing his gaze up to meet hers.

Tori blushed a little when his eyes met hers. He was so very handsome. She was so very smitten. She nodded once, leaving her eyes looking into his.

"I never do." A little smirk crossed her features.
