Lavender reached down into a box on the floor at her feet and pulled out another teddy bear. These teddy bears were popular on the maternity ward - they were pink or blue and charmed to play lullabies when hugged. She smiled, squeezing one of the pink bears before putting it on a shelf in a pleasing display.
The shop was quiet, just a couple of people picking up "Get Well" cards, balloons, or essentials for an overnight stay. She finished with her display and tapped the empty box with her wand, making is disappear. Lavender walked back to toward the counter, swerving to not crash into someone. "Sorry!" she smiled.

Lavender wasn't completely oblivious - there was a Board of Trustees meeting in a bit and it was the first time she was on duty when Kirley Duke was in the hospital. Everyone knew who he was - of course. "All right," she smiled again, pulling the candy bar across the counter.

"How are you today?" Lavender asked, pulling the slip from the register. She fiddled with it, drawing out their polite little conversation a moment longer.

	He didn't mind her doddling. She was quite nice to look at, if he didn't say so himself. Very fit. Kirley leaned a little closer while she busied herself with the sale and ran a hand through his already disheveled hair. "You know, the usual." He gave her a naughty smile and then leaned back again. Lavender knew that smile - she had a version of it herself, she thought, smirking a little. "Oh, well, it's been pretty quiet," she admitted. "No babies born yet today - that's when I get some of the better crowds. Skittish new fathers and bragging grandmums," she smiled.

She peered down at the slip then back up at him. As soon as she told him how much his candy was, he would pay and leave - where was the fun in that? "Are you looking forward to your meeting?" she teased.

Kirley had no intention of running on out of there. She could hold on to that slip as long as she wanted, as far as he was concerned.

"Does a muggle look forward to getting his teeth pulled?" He laughed. There was some sort of voting going on today about a Healer. He wasn't really interested, but because he donated money, he was on the board. Therefore, he had no choice in the matter.

"I'd much rather stay and talk to a lovely little thing like yourself." Another grin.

She laughed with him. "Oh, that thrilling, huh?" she laughed, shaking her head a little.

At his comment, Lavender at least had the sense to blush a little. "Now you're just being a flirt," she laughed, and he was good at it. "You know, the girls that work here fight over getting the Board Meeting shift in hopes of getting a glimpse of a rock star," she told him with a mischievous look in her eyes.

	"And you won out, eh?" He laughed and unwrapped his candy bar. "What'd you have to do?" He took a bite and managed to look sexy while doing it, which was saying something because there was some kind of caramel inside and that wasn't easy to eat cleanly. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"Well, I'm the manager now so I always get what I want now," she smirked. Lavender bit her lip as she watched him eat the candy - ugh, it wasn't right that someone could eat a candy bar like that. She cleared her throat, pulling back to stand up straight, remembering who she was for a moment. "Ummm, here's your slip," she said, passing him the small paper. (Reply to this) (Parent)
