Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Michael and Cho
Where: Pub
When: backdated to sometime last week at night
Why: because Michael fancies a drink
Rated: TBA

Michael had already started drinking long before Cho showed up. This didn't mean he was wasted. He wasn't. Slightly buzzed, maybe, but drunk, definitely not. He'd just had a rough few days at work. There was nothing going on-- at least in his department anyways. And when nothing was going on, things got terribly boring. He needed something to spice things up. Seeing Cho, spending time with her, usually did the trick.

"Oi. Over here," he called, when he saw her walk in the door. He held up a drink to her, that might have been sitting on the table for about an hour but he swore was still drinkable. He'd ordered it for her when he first came in. "Got you a drink."

Michael looked confused. "I meant shitted, hammered, buzzed, drunk. But, I mean. If you're offering, I wouldn't deny a little tickle in the loo." He shot her a seductive look.

"Oh." Cho hid behind her glass and mentally groaned. That was just lovely. Truly lovely. Drinking the last of it, Cho set the glass down just in time for another to arrive. She didn't waste any time and threw it back quickly.

She was going to be drunk very, very soon.

"I am not going to do anything to you in the loo," she said. "That's disgusting."

Michael rolled his eyes exasperated. "Fiiiiiine," he said, drawing it out. "We can go back to my flat. Or yours. I'm not picky." He gave her a cocky wink and tossed back his own drink.

She didn't say anything for a moment or two and finished the last of her drink. Cho looked at Michael, reminding herself of how annoying he was and how much he upset her when he was being a prat and then how damn miserable she'd been for months without a proper shag and..

"Fine." She stood up and pushed her chair in. "But you better pay for those drinks and not try to stick me with the tab."

He was surprised, honestly. "Really?" He nearly choked on his beer, but quickly covered it. Michael had to look on top of his game at all times. "I mean. No. I'd never leave you with the tab. You couldn't afford it anyways."

He waved over two more drinks. He was looking at her differently now.

"Oh to hell with you. I make more than enough." He was going to get kicked at this rate. It wasn't like she worked in the bloody gift shop. And she hadn't pissed her gold away on things she didn't need either.

"You can be a real prick, you know that?"

He nodded, grinning from ear to ear. "I know, and I try very hard. It's not easy, you know." And it wasn't. "But, I can be a real charmer, right?" He reached forward and played with her hair, running it smoothly through his fingers. "We all have flaws."

"Yes," she admitted and leaned into his touch. She might not want him to be so bloody charming, but that didn't make it any less true. He was, as much as it pained her to admit, able to convince her to do almost anything so long as he smiled at her like that.

"You're not the biggest fan of flaws in others," she reminded her quietly and immediately wished she hadn't.

He brushed a thumb across her cheek ever so lightly. "Good thing you're perfect then, huh?" He didn't mean it. He never did. She had flaws just like he did. But it sounded like the right thing to say, given the circumstances.

After a moment, he pulled back.

Rolling her eyes, Cho leaned back in her chair as Michael pulled away. "Sure," she said. She wasn't perfect. She was far from it and he knew it better than most.

"This will really work better if you stop trying to be charming and try for honesty instead," she pointed out. "I don't want to fall for that again."

Dammit, she needed another drink. Hers was empty. Cho waved for the waitress to bring another round.

"Honesty?" He scoffed. "What do you want me to say? That I want to take you back to my place and shag you senseless and then pretend it didn't happen tomorrow?" Okay, that might have been a little too honest, but Michael was definitely feeling the effects of the alcohol.

"Yes! Because I already know that's how you'd act and it's better if you admit it then pretend you're going to be nice to me." Cho had, apparently, lost any sense of romance. She was a realist these days and didn't see the point in hoping for something she was never going to get.

There was a very, very good chance she was going to hate herself for allowing this. But she was so damn sick and tired of going to bed alone every night.

"But I am being nice to you!" He was, wasn't he? Or he was trying to, at least. She wasn't making it any easier for him. Sure, Michael didn't always have tact when it came to certain things, but he knew how to act before bedding a woman. Especially women he'd already had relations with.

"I'm buying your drinks! And I'm telling you you're perfect!" He was waving his hands. People in the pub were starting to stare at him.

"Yes, but this isn't you! You don't think I'm perfect and you're only buying me drinks because you don't think I can afford them!" Okay, so she was probably overreacting a bit, but she had her fair share of alcohol too.

"And just because you're being nice right now doesn't mean you're not going to.. to.." Make her feel awful in a few days. Cho made a frustrated noise and put her head down on the table. "Nevermind," she grumbled. "I'm going to go home."

He shrugged. "Alright. Do what you need to do. I'll be here." He took a sip, deciding to nurse this drink rather than toss it back. He was starting to spin a little. Or rather, the room was.

"But for the record," he started, pointing a finger in her direction. "I'm not buying you drinks just because you can't afford them. Which you probably can't. This is a pretty hefty tab right now. But that's not my point. My point is. I'm buying you drinks cause sometimes even you deserve to be taken out and treated like you're desirable. Cause you are. And I really want to fuck you right now." He took it too far, but he just couldn't help it. He was lucky to be able to string a sentence together, let alone a whole speech. He was bound to stray somewhere.

"I already said you could!" Why in the hell were they fighting? For the love of Merlin, no one exasperated her the way Michael did. "And I can't go home because I'm pretty sure I'm going to fall over if I stand up." She wasn't that much of a drinker and being as small as she was and the amount of booze in her system...

Well. Cho was falling off her ass drunk.

"We could call the Knight Bus?" Michael sure as hell wasn't apparating back. It was a good way to splinch them both. "Or we could use the on call room. Or the loo. Just sayin'."

"I am not using the loo!" If she saw a toilet, Cho was pretty sure she'd be sick and that would put an end to their evening rather quickly.

"Just.. take me home or something. Please?"

"If we wave the Knight Bus down, it will take you home." He wasn't thinking about shagging on the beds there. It was too public. Way too public. He liked at least a little privacy.

"Let me just pay the tab." He walked to the bar, leaving her momentarily alone at the table. He'd been right. It was expensive, but nothing he couldn't pay now and worry about later. When he came back, he was noticeably wobbly, but that didn't stop him.

"Ready?" He held out his arm.

Knowing that going home with Michael was a very bad idea wasn't going to stop Cho from doing it. She'd lost her common sense with her second drink. Taking his arm, Cho stood up, her knees a bit shaky.

"Yeah," she said and leaned in to kiss him lightly. "Let's go."

alrighty. I'll wrap it up. =]

When they stepped outside, the cool air hit him like a brick wall. It wasn't unwelcome, just shocking to someone who'd been drinking like the world was ending. "It's nice out," Michael said, reaching into his back pocket for his wand.

He waved his arm and in a second, there was a crack! and a bus in front of them. When the door opened, Michael gestured for Cho to go on first, before he followed her in.
