He enjoyed her touch immensely and hadn't wanted their interlude to end. As the silence fell between them, his mind began asking questions. Who is this woman? What's the game plan? Is she worth anything? All questions he usually was able to ascertain withing minutes of meeting a woman. There was something different about her now though. She seemed confused almost, as she pulled away.
His arms felt empty without her, and the confusion on his face was evident for a few moments as he watched her disappear into the crowd. Confusion was replaced with disappointment and he took another drink from the bartender, downing it instantly. Ah well. Perhaps it was time to leave himself. Putting the empty glass on the bar, he collected his things and exited Centro, leaving the Fedora at the door. It had been a good party, but he had a feeling the Fallen Angel would be haunting his dreams for a while yet.
