It had been eventful, since the whole zombie apocalypse started up on Wednesday night, to say the least. She had stayed put in her apartment watching the news and browsing the forums for extra information, almost all night. She'd taken a light nap on her couch at around four in the morning and woke three hours later in a panic after getting bitten in her zombie related dream. She only calmed down when she remembered the post on the forum, informing everyone that the bites were not contagious.
She'd spent Thursday morning pretty much the same way she spent the night before, until she chanced upon a post from one of her neighbours. She realized that offering Jess her leftover prescription drugs was probably not the smartest in the world, but she sounded like she needed them and she figured they'd be okay as long as someone was there to watch her. That person ended up being Dot, when it turned out that Bly was planning on venturing out into the unknown on her own. Thankfully, though she would never admit she was worried, Bly returned by nightfall and Dot was back in her apartment for the night.
It wasn't until Friday morning that she realized that Okoye hadn't texted her since their first exchange on Wednesday night. Okoye was one of the few people in the world that Dottie genuinely cared quite a bit about. She was pretty sure that she would be quite lost without his presence in the world, and suddenly she was pacing around her living room. She spent most of the morning pacing and debating whether or not to text or call him. Besides, in their last exchange, she'd only asked him to notify her if he was hurt. Maybe this was a good thing and her crazy dream was just starting to get to her.
By noon, Dot had managed to get herself to sit down on a couch, legs pulled to her as she stared into her blank television screen. She didn't turn it on, in fear of seeing Okoye's face on the news. She even considered trying to get to his office, a few times, but he'd told her to stay put and she was sure that if he followed his own advice, he'd be okay too. These thoughts were still running through her head when she heard the banging on the door. Physically cringing away at first, she all but flew at the door when she recognized Okoye's voice.
"You made it!" She could not resist the smile on her face, and her voice was much cheerier than most days. If Dottie was not concerned with how to explain herself afterward, she would have her arms wrapped tightly around Okoye right now, "I was going to call you, but I didn't want to distract you, in case you were in threatening situation."
