Who: Luke Robin and Wren (now with added Eve!)
What: A chance encounter
Where: Some dark alley in Rainer Valley
When: Sunday night
Warnings: Guns. Violence. Woo.
Luke had been out almost every night since rescuing Bunny a week ago, and although he'd already collected his fair share of bruises, he was getting better at it - his version of practice was easy targets, a man attempting a mugging or even small time drug deals in action. 'Simple' things, in his mind, compared to armed criminals (he was still working on how to deal with those; so far he'd been going down the 'attack before they can pull a weapon' route, but he knew that wouldn't always work.) He'd added some padding to his costume for protection, as well as using his 'emergency' credit card for knuckle guards to wear under handwraps, with his gloves overtop. The last thing he needed was to mess up one or both of his hands, after all. He'd also traded in his rope for a grappling hook (also purchased with his credit card) although he still hadn't quite gotten the hang of using it yet, never mind throwing it properly.
There was no lack of criminal lowlifes to be found, of course; there were the two gangs, of course, along with other various criminals - some organized into groups, some not - and there wasn't always a victim to rescue. Sometimes it simply came down to listening, catching a small piece to a larger puzzle that he was determined to attempt. Yes, he was young and hardly as experienced as Batman or Rorschach, but he refused to let that hinder his efforts.
Tonight he wasn't looking for anyone (or anything) in particular, simply scanning the streets and alleys for any sort of trouble. He caught sight of two figures in an alley, and upon further inspection saw that it was a man and a young woman, but the latter didn't seem to be in any immediate danger. Still, he crouched low on the fire escape, waiting and watching - just in case.
