Foundation established by Local Museum Curator [Photo of Dr. Shiloh Preston, lifted from the SAAM website.] In the wake of last month's plane crash at Seattle-Tacoma, a local man has set up a foundation to assist with medical expenses and counseling for all impacted, including the families of victims and those who survived. Dr. Shiloh Preston, 39, curator of the Seattle Asian Art Museum, said in an interview on Friday "...there is not enough assistance available to these families. Medical insurance covers only so much, and in a time of such emotional hardship, one hardly wants to think about where the money to cover these expenses is coming from. I want to help these families have one less thing to worry about, so that they may focus on their loved ones as they heal." Preston, too, was affected by the May 22 plane accident whose death tolls have reached nearly 300. His son was aboard the same plane. Preston declined comment on his son's condition, instead stating "...this is not about me. This is about everyone who was affected by this tragedy. I simply want to help them out in any way that I am able." Continued investigations into the cause behind the crash of the Boeing 747 jet have (CON'T page 4A) → |
