Minor Injury Meme

A meme for those minor injuries that won't leave you down but make it hard to live your life. The breaks, sprains, and the hurt/comfort that comes with them.

INJURIES

1. SPRAIN: you stepped the wrong way, twisted the wrong way, and something has gone terribly wrong. Just remember RICE - Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation.

2. FRACTURE: You step off the sidewalk, working in the backyard, and suddenly BAM!! But it's not a sprain, oh no, you're in a cast for the duration. Good luck trying to get to work.

3. PULLED: It's not bad enough for medical attention but it still hurts something fierce. Break out the tiger balm or someone to give you a hand because you've pulled something. That awkward moment when you think you want vicodin...and nobody will give it to you.

4. MIGRAINE: Light hurts, air hurts, moving hurts. All you can do is lie in a darkened room and pray for the pounding pain to go away behind your eyes.

5. THE FLU: Maybe you're physically fine – well… all your limbs are working. You just feel like death warmed over.

6. WILDCARD: Anything else you can think of.

SCENARIOS

1. INJURED! WHAT NEXT?: You're out working, you're out having fun, you're out doing something when suddenly you step, twist, move and our bodies demonstrate just how fragile they really are. Quick! someone call the ambulance!

2. THE EMERGENCY ROOM: All the fun of a waiting room with rewards that include crutches, casts, X-Rays, vicodin, and sometimes just that one nurse who says "Yeah there's nothing wrong with you that'll be 400 dollars."

3. HOME AND SETTING UP THE NEST: Hurt, trying to make a space for you to get around. Hopefully someone is there to help you get to your crutches so you can go to the bathroom and make yourself something to eat.

4. PHYSICAL THERAPY HOME EDITION: The obligatory smut option. Do you not see that I'm wearing this cast?

5. OH GOD HELP I'M GOING TO DIE: That awkward moment when the fact that you are bedridden is crushing down on you and you're terrified you'll do something to make the injury worse. Snappish, angry, and rude - who are you going to take it out on?

6. DRIVE ME TO THE DOCTOR THIS SHIT IS COMING OFF: It's time, they say you can come in, take it off, and begin the next stage of recovery. Failing that, you’re going to grab a saw and cut the damn thing off yourself! Will there be joy, laughter, crying, happiness?

7. WILDCARD: Anything else you can think of.

Daniel was still holding out hope that Robby would see the light and come back to them. After all, if Daniel and Johnny could drink the Cobra Kai Koolaid and survive, there was hope for anyone. Robby included.

He kissed Johnny again before stroking his cheek. "I've already eaten John Henry. I ate before I came in to see you. Deacon brought us all food. I'm okay. I promise." Or well, he would be.

	"You better be." Johnny said, hating to watch him go. "I love you. I need you. So you gotta be okay." Johnny told him, mostly jovial, but he meant it too. Johnny wasn't going to be okay if something happened to Daniel. "Now, let Miguel in before he revolts." Johnny said, squeezing Daniel's fingers tightly. "And wait, Deacon's here?" "Ditto," Daniel shot back at Johnny. Completely unashamed to quote Ghost at him. He was a sap, so sue him. But he had come so close to losing Johnny, and they were far from out of the woods yet. He didn't want to imagine his life without Johnny in it.

He smoothed his thumb over the back of Johnny's hand and gave a nod. "Yeah. He's in the waiting room with Miguel. He brought us all food. He seems like a good kid."

"Wow, um, okay." Johnny said, digesting this. "If he... if he wants to come back with you, it's okay." Johnny told him, stumbling over the words a bit. He was still full of flu germs, but he was sure whatever they had him on was helping that, seeing as how he was going to be on dialysis. What the fuck? That was still tripping him up.

Once more, he pulled Daniel down and kissed him. "I love you." He told him, feeling Sam taking his other hand in hers, squeezing his fingers tightly. Johnny let go then, he knew Daniel had to go and tell Miguel he could come in. That didn't stop his blue eyes from filling with tears.

Daniel returned the kiss. He looked down at him, noticing those tears. Fuck. Those baby blues should never be filled with tears. He stroked Johnny's cheek tenderly. He knew Miguel was desperate to see Johnny, but he could wait a few more seconds.

"Hey, what is it, Johnny? We're gonna get through this, okay? Me and you. We're a team. I'm with you every step of the way."

Johnny was quiet for a moment, his chin trembled, and tears fell off his chin onto his hospital gown. He wanted his voice to be stronger when he spoke. "I just..." He struggled, and Sam reached for his ginger ale, and he took a sip, while she held it, he was gripping Daniel's shirt, holding on tightly.

"I just, I'm scared that you're going to walk out of this room and I'll.." Johnny couldn't say it, and Sam, who was crying now, squeezed his hand tightly and laid her head on his shoulder. He leaned his head against hers, he had never been more scared in his life.

Johnny finally had everything he'd wanted since he was eighteen years old, and because of that bastard Kreese and whoever Silver was, it could all be taken away.

	Daniel carded his fingers through Johnny's hair. "It's gonna be okay. You're gonna be okay. We're going to find you a kidney. Listen to me, okay? You're Johnny Lawrence. And you know what? "Johnny LaRusso." Johnny said for the first time, but he couldn't believe that he was going to make it this time. Because okay, let's say he did, and they got him another kidney. Kreese and Silver were still out there.

He knew that Miguel wanted to see him, and he wanted to see Miguel too, he was just so scared to let Daniel go. Sam sniffled, and kissed Johnny. "Papa, I'll go and Miguel can come back, okay?" She kissed Johnny's cheek. She wasn't going to make him be separated from Daniel. "Okay?" She asked again, and he nodded. She wiped his cheeks.

"I'll send Miguel in." She told him, and hugged him tightly before she left the room. "We got a good girl." Johnny said, laying his head back on the pillow, tugging Daniel closer to the bed.

"Johnny LaRusso?" Daniel repeated. "Has a nice ring to it." He didn't want to think about how serious Johnny's situation was. Couldn't let himself think about the very real possibility of losing him. Not after it took them so long to find each other.

He nodded. "Yeah, we definitely have a great daughter. I couldn't be prouder of her." Daniel stroked Johnny's face tenderly. "I'm going to get tested. To see if I'm a match."

	"I want to get rid of Lawrence." He said, nodding. Then he looked at Daniel. "You are not." His tone was firm. "Because there is no way you're giving me a kidney. Our kids need you. What if something happens to me?" He asked, shaking his head firmly. Johnny wasn't going to let Daniel do that, if he knew that he was a match, Daniel would insist on giving him his. 	Daniel's brows furrowed. "Johnny... please, I want to. I know there's a high chance I won't be a match. But if I am... Johnny, you need a kidney. The sooner we find a match the sooner you're back on your feet and kicking ass - where you're supposed to be." And that you would." Johnny told him. Before he could say anymore, Miguel came hurrying in, and threw his arms around Johnny. "Hey, kid." Johnny said, putting an arm around him. 	"Woah, easy Miguel. Johnny's just had major surgery," Daniel reminded him, even though he knew Miguel wasn't likely to let go any time soon - and he couldn't blame him for that. Miguel was sniffling as he hung on. But he said, "I know, I'm sorry, Daniel." He added, "Sorry, Johnny, you know I wasn't trying to hurt you."

"Hey kid, it's okay. I know you're just scared and you were worried." Johnny said, rubbing Miguel's back. He hated that this kid had to have more things go wrong in his life. Johnny didn't want to be something else, and end up abandoning him, even if it wasn't his fault.

Finally letting go, Miguel leaned back. "You're gonna be okay, I know it. We'll make sure Kreese pays for doing this to you, too." He added, fire in his brown eyes.
