She was so focused on the task in front of her that she almost didn't hear the person clear his throat. She could tell it was a man from the tone when he'd cleared his throat. She was about to wave the person off, but glanced up for about half a second and saw standing there a very familiar figure.
She didn't freeze exactly but she stopped moving, her fingers just stopped mid-stroke on the keyboard of her laptop and she felt herself swallowing. This was not how she'd pictured this meeting. But what was he doing there? She looked and he didn't have any books with him. In fact the entire time she'd known him... her Dean that was - he'd never set foot in the library. Now Sam? He'd been in here on nearly a daily basis, but no, not Dean.
If she was being completely honest with herself she was not only hurt now - what with this Dean's appearance; he didn't remember her, why shouldn't she be hurting. She'd fallen for him and now he didn't remember her at all! - she was also somewhat afraid of this meeting. This was going to be awkward. There was no other way for it to go... right?
Almost on automatic, her fingers moved to the mouse and clicked up another screen - one which just happened to be a local news website - before she finally got it together to say something... She didn't know what he could tell by her pause. She pushed her feelings to the side for the moment as she started to speak. "Dean... why...well what are you doing here?" she didn't usually stutter or speak like this. She steeled herself then. "Is there something I can help you with? A book or something?" What else could he possibly want? They'd talked, she knew that he didn't remember her, so what the hell could he possibly want?!
