Who: Wes Baker and Viola Hastings
What: Meeting
When: Tuesday October 22, 2008, afternoon
Where: Town Park
Wes, who hated the idea of being sent back to Meyers, or any other sort of awful place where he couldn't leave, woke with a horrible feeling in the pit of his stomach. He knew everything was off, the blankets didn't feel right, the window was on the wrong side of the wall, and there were just too many things in the room. So very many things. All of this stuff, this clutter, was bound to drive him insane. He was very much into being clutter free. After many failed attempts to call home, he decided he might as well get out of the room. So finally, he got dressed.
He didn't make it very far into the town when he saw a second piece of his artwork in a small park. The first one was located out of the apartment building he was staying in, Oriens, and it was one of his angels. This one, however, was the one that was supposed to be in front of Delia's house. It was one of his first pieces of work, a massive hand with a heart cut out in the center of it. He stood there, amazed and horrified that it was there. This meant that he was never going home. This didn't belong here at all, he didn't belong here at all.
He stared at it for a long time before deciding that it wasn't going anywhere and moving on. He ate a rather bland burger and was going to try and get a book or two about the place, to figure out what exactly he was going to do and how exactly he was going to get home. Instead he decided to go on a run, going back to his apartment first and changing his clothes, to a pair of running shorts and a t-shirt, it was cold outside, yes, but he usually didn't mind the cold when he ran.
But, he found himself standing in front of the sculpture again, it felt so wrong that it was there. That he was there. He couldn't pull his eyes away from it, not even when people yelled for him to get out of the way.
