She was content to go see Dan, her mood had improved drastically since finding her lover in the town with her and yet, she hadn't fully gotten over New York. Her home was gone and they were stuck in this frigid town. It was colder than New York at this time of year and even though Laurie had gotten a taste for adventuring, she wasn't fond of the cold. It reminded her too much of that time where she visited Adrian and now his name gave her a biter taste in her mouth. How could she ever think of talking fondly of him or talking about him without the sound of hate in her voice? It was impossible since she knew that he had done. She had become edgy with her knowledge and further more with the chaos that could happen in this town.
She had dressed comfortably in a red sweater and black pants with flat shoes. She was thankful for Dan living just a floor up from her. It meant that she didn't have to wear a heavy coat to just go to visit him and that he was always near by if she needed him. It felt good to have someone dependable, someone real and there with her and it just made her feel like a normal girl. It really made her wonder why she didn't see this ages ago? Jon was just too much for her and she didn't see it, she was just so caught up in his myth, being with someone her mother didn't want her to be with and being out of her mother's house. Did she love Jon? Laurie didn't know, but she supposed at one point she did.
Giving her reflection a once-over, she smiled to it as if telling herself that it was going to be a good day. A very good and exciting day. The fact that people were causing trouble meant that Silk Spectre II and Nite Owl II weren't useless. It was also fun, she'd admit that now. Dan made it fun, it was someone to share the adventure with. It completed her. She now couldn't wait to get out there for that rush.
Satisfied with her appearance and excited to go out and go adventuring, she picked up the bag with her costume in it and headed for the door, feeling and looking fairly happy. If her mother could only see her now, wouldn't she be proud of her little girl?
