WHO: Captain Bucky and Tiny Steve
WHAT: Catching up
WHERE: Steve's apartment in New York
WHEN: Sunday afternoon
STATUS: Incomplete. Threaded.
Bucky was worrying him. Having known the brunette since the two of them were boys, Steve had gotten pretty good at reading his best friend. Something was clearly off here and he was sure it had more to do with the disappearing paper, weird piece of technology he was still trying to figure out, or the line they were trying to feed him about transdimensional travel or the future. Running his fingers through his hair, Steve moved towards the door. Maybe he should wait for Bucky outside. They could walk up to the apartment together. The seconds they spent walking in, what Steve was sure would be, silence could be spent checking Bucky over without his knowledge. The taller man was always so preoccupied making sure that Steve was breathing alright that he never realized that his own best friend was mentally making sure Bucky was physically okay. Worrying about each other was a two way street. Bucky just might not have noticed that. When Steve finally decided that he didn't like the idea of sitting around and waiting, he got up off the couch and moved to open the door. The city sounded different. Having grown up in New York, he'd grown used to the cacophony that seemed to fill the city at all hours of the day. Those sounds were slightly different now. He didnt recognize a majority of the builldings he could see outside his window. He didn't know how to explain it. Things just seemed different. Pulling open his door (and leaving the odd black device behind), he stuffed his keys into his pocked and quickly made his way downstairs. Once he did, however, he sort of wished he hadn't. Things really were different. The cars were all wrong. The streetlights were different. "Ah, damnit." He cursed beneath his breath. Maybe Bucky hadn't been pulling his leg. |
