The tiny nod from Dick assured Tim they had done the right thing by bringing Conner to see Clark. The younger Robin's eyes then went back to checking the vitals on the computer screen, however still observing the others behavior out of the corner of his eye.
At Conner's words, Tim bit his lip. They were eerily similar to the promise his best friend - the one of this Earth - had made just after Superman had first fallen. Of course, he wouldn't stand in Conner's way if he chose to defend the Earth. However, just as his fiend finished, there was a blip on the brain monitoring screen. It could have easily been nothing but to someone who was as inquisitive as Tim, who learned to question everything, the blip was interesting.
Tim continued to watch the screen as Dick spoke. The brain activity went dormant, like it does in sleep and Tim almost put it down to seeing things until a tiny spark of activity blipped again on the screen at the tail end of Dick's sentence.
"I think he is responding to Conner." Tim mused out loud. "Conner, say something else to him. Dick, come watch this." He knew it wasn't a significant change in Clark's status but it was enough to give Tim some hope.
