Meeting the Metallicar

[info]goddessforhire
Who: Vala
When: A couple days after the Fountain Incident
Where: The stable
Open to: Dean

It was mid-afternoon as Vala hiked her way up the hill just past the Wolfe's Head Tavern. In her explorations, she had always gone west of the tavern or north to explore the castle, she had yet to actually go east. Up ahead of her was a large stone stable, all of its doors wide open. There was one stall though, near the back that was open and had the front end of a car sticking out with a pair of legs underneath.

Cocking her head to the side, Vala headed towards the man. She placed a hand on the hood of the car and bent down, able to see the rest of the man under the car; it was Dean. "Hello," Vala said, giving him a wide smile.

First rainstorm of the season

[info]goddessforhire
Who: Vala
When: After dark.
Where: Middle of the Folly square but really, I suppose everywhere.
Open To: Everyone
Threading: Party style. Either start a new thread or jump into an existing thread to join an established conversation. Everything is open.

Vala stepped out of her house and began to walk towards the tavern. There wasn't much to do on the rock at night other than head towards the alcoholic establishment and hope to run into some people to talk to (among other things).

Off in the distance, Vala heard a low rumbling. She paused by the fountain cocking her head as she looked off towards the castle. She waited until, there, she heard it again.

"What--?" Vala started, trying to figure if the noise was organic or mechanical in nature. Her question was cut off by another loud roar before the sky seemed to open up and a deluge poured down. Blinking, Vala tipped her head back, looking up at the sky. It was raining. She laughed and opened her mouth to the rain as it continued to pour down all around her.

Who: Eric
When: after dark
Where: the pub and Eric's house
Open To: Bastian and Vala :D
Thread: Single
[NSFW. You've been warned. Or enticed, as the case may be. ;)]

After the sun had set and full dark had fallen, Eric headed down to the inn, hoping that Bastian would be there. He spied the younger vampire at a table by himself, a glass of whiskey in front of him. Smiling to himself, Eric made his way over to the brunette and took the seat across from him. "Good evening, Bastian. I was hoping that I might find you here."

[info]goddessforhire
Who: Eric
When: After the sun goes down so he doesn't go splodey.
Where: Vala's home
Open To: Eric

It was a warm evening as Vala relaxed back on her roof, taking in the breeze and looking up at the stars. Taking a deep breath of the night air, she slowly laid down on her back so that all she could see was the sky. A few stray wisps of cloud drifted across the night sky, obscuring her vision briefly. She smiled. Clouds, probably the first she had actually seen in this place. It meant that the great balloons were at least moving them somewhere after all.

Sighing, Vala cocked her head to one side and then the other. Try as she might, none of the patterns of the stars fit her familiar constellation patterns. There was no dragon, no serpent, no half fish-half bird. With a sigh, Vala resigned herself to the fact that she was going to have to make up her own and this time she would make sure they were more interesting. Giggling to herself, Vala began to mentally map out the night sky.

At the Inn

[info]mitchellsg1
Who: Cam
When: late evening
Where: the inn
Open To: Vala
Thread: Single

Cam and Vala sat at a table at the Inn, half-finished drinks beside them and a shared plate of sausages on the table. Cam had to admit, he was enjoying the homecooked meals that appeared out of nowhere every night. They'd become his reason for venturing out once in a while. That, and Vala's constant pestering of him to.

"No, you're doing it wrong." Cam said, reaching over and snagging the square of paper from Vala's hands, afraid that she was going to wear it out with her constantly folding and unfolding. "Watch me."

He took it and began to fold, clever movements with his fingers until there was a perfect triangle, thick with the layers of paper. He held it steady with an index finger and then flicked it at her.

He’d only been stepping through the gateway, only checking on his new creation. (People and...other things had been coming through for weeks now. His new cosmos populated with those discontent with their own.) He should have found himself in a vast and open space, floating above one of his worlds. Instead he was here. (And the most troubling thing was that he wasn’t immediately certain where ‘here’ was. Not his creation, not the Earth he knew, not hell or heaven or the Silver City or Faerie or the Dreaming or any other realm he was familiar with.)

There would be time later to discern a way to get out, back to his world, new or old. For now he needed information. In knowledge there was power. One thing he and the Old Man agreed on at least.

Traditionally the inn was the place to go when you needed to know what was going on in the wide world. He headed there now.

Vala pulled her hair back into her usual pigtailed braids as she stepped into the fountain. The weather had been growing steadily hotter, disproving her theory that their rock wasn't actually going anywhere, and she needed something to break the heat.

After her impromptu water battle with Cam the other day, Vala had been dying to find some sort of pool or something to cool off with. But other than the river that she found whose water dumped somewhere she wasn't willing to find out about just yet, she had struck out.

So armed in her new bikini, Vala jumped into the fountain and let the water splash down on her, finally cooling her off.

[open to any and all and lets go single thread and make it an epic pool/fountain party. Everyone bring your trunks!]

Bastian still hadn't decided if he wanted to move out of the inn or not. He'd put up thick curtains in one of the rooms to keep the sunlight out during the day, and he wasn't having any trouble sleeping, so it seemed a waste to take a whole house for himself.

As a result, he ended up spending most of his time in the inn, aside from the occasional night time stroll. This evening, just after the sun went down, he made his way into the pub area, got himself a glass of whiskey, and took a seat at a table in the corner with a book of crossword puzzles. it was one of his favorite ways to pass the time.

There were a lot of things Cam missed about Colorado Springs, and the gym was definitely one of them. He felt itchy without being able to work out with his equipment, without being able to spar with Teal'c or hit the basketball court, even the shooting range... he wasn't sure if it was his brain playing tricks on him or not but he felt like he was getting rusty, and it bugged him.

He did what he could, though, and running was one of those things. The weather was always perfect, conditions always ideal, and he pushed himself harder because of it. He wanted some discomfort, some pain, found himself wishing he'd step out one day to a thunderstorm or stifling heat or something besides the cloying perfection that was this place.

Time to relax

[info]dubbie
It'd been a busy few days, taken up with cleaning out her house and putting everything in order but it was done now, and the decor wasn't great but it would be liveable. Well for now at least. Needed a tv and xbox to make it home. And her friends would be good as well.

The sun was starting to set, so she left her house and headed to the Inn, looking for a drink and maybe someone to talk to. She stepped inside the Inn and looked around to see who else was around.

It was just after full dark had fallen, and Eric was outside working in his front lawn. He'd discovered a reel mower in his basement and had decided use it in an attempt to make the overgrown yard look presentable. Sure, the neighbors might find it odd that he was mowing his lawn at night, but Eric didn't mind. If it didn't get done at night, it wasn't going to get done at all.

[Open to anyone, but Eric would especially like to meet Dean and Wendy!]

lost girl (open)

[info]notatalldead
Alcide told her to run.

Sookie ran.

She was surprised how fast she could go in the black spiked heels she'd borrowed for the visit to Lou Pine's. They weren't getting in her way, though. Neither was the black wig she was wearing, which she found even more strange. Sookie expected it to pop off her head, but it stayed put.

The surprise came when she didn't recognize her surroundings anymore, and found herself completely NOT near Lou Pine's, or anywhere she'd ever seen. Was that a hot air balloon? It was odd to be upset not to look like herself, but Sookie was getting aggravated about just that. She was lost, and she looked like a biker bar tramp.

Her heels were clicking on cobblestone. What in the world? There was sure no cobblestone over in the area by the bar.

Sookie listened carefully, hoping to pick up some stray thoughts from people around here. But it was late, and a lot were sleeping. She did catch a few...

... got here, can't get out...
... just hope Sam's okay. I wish I could talk to him.
... what do they mean, no way out?

Sookie kept walking, thoroughly confused, wishing more people were awake so she could get more information. The cobblestone kept going, and she wondered where she could go to change out of the uncharacteristic clothes and get some sleep.

After a few days in her leathers, Vala had finally broke down and found a shop in town that had other clothes. There was only so many days one could wear black leather before it needed to be cleaned.

Brushing her pants off, Vala stepped out of the shop feeling rather good and carrying quite a few bags. With her new house, she had quite a few new closets in need of filling.

((Cam-- tag you're it! And to anyone that feels the need to change clothes ha!))

Arrival post - open to anyone

[info]bloody_saint
It had been a very long time since Bastian had found himself lost. Even in the dead of night, even in a strange town, he could always find his way, by scent if nothing else, back to where he started. This place, this...town/castle/fortress/something was new to Bastian in a way that nothing had been in longer than he could remember. The smell here was different, the only thing recognizable the scent of his own clothing and the telltale human odor that told him the town was inhabited. The worst of it was, he didn’t remember coming here. He was only walking home, back to his newly rented flat after a night of work. And the sun had been coming up, hadn’t it?

He would turn to see if he could find his way back, but he knew without looking that he would find nothing familiar that way either. The scent of the small town he’d been living in for the past month was gone completely. All that was left was this strange, new place.

So he started walking. A building ahead, some sort of inn it seemed, was lit, and Bastian made his way toward it.

Cam didn't exactly get a restful night of sleep, between the pain in his leg and the thoughts in his mind. By daybreak he was up, and shortly after knocking on Vala's door.

It was after dark, and Eric Northman was house hunting. He knew exactly what he wanted: a large house with a nice, big basement that had no windows and no exterior door. A basement that he could sleep in during the day, that was light-tight. He strolled through the village at a casual pace, judging each house that he passed based on its exterior and deciding that many of them were too small for his tastes.

He was also hoping to meet some of the other occupants of this strange little town as he wandered. A willing blood donor would be nice, but more than that, Eric was a social creature by nature. He missed the active night life of Fangtasia, his bar back home.

Making the best of the tavern...

[info]goddessforhire
Vala stood in the tavern, a pint at her elbow and the window looking out onto the town in front of her. It reminded her a lot of the Ori village that she had sort of been a part of at one time. The difference was, this place seemed friendly. Carr was at least.

It was only the second day in the village but Vala was bored. Something needed to happen and happen soon or she was going to have to find her own fun and it was never good when she did that.

Looking back out the window, Vala moved to look around the bar, hoping to find something interesting.

As a new day draws on...

[info]dubbie
Wendy sat on the edge of the fountain in the square. She'd found the fixings for a sandwich in the inn kitchen earlier and she was eating that as she stared at the distant castle just visible above the roofs of the other buildings. Her jacket was off and over her knees, the cuffs of her sleeves rolled up, her tie loose. It gave her some sense of stability, familiarity in this foreign place, to wear her uniform. Her telemetry device was on the lip of the fountain, next to her, but switched off. Depending on what setting she had it on, the readings went from strange to just plain confusing. It might come in handy in the castle if she could attune it to read properly here.

The sun was bright and just warming up as the morning drew on, and she figured she should probably start looking around the village, town, whatever this place was, before it grew too warm. She brushed the breadcrumbs off her hands as she finished her sandwich, and stood to take another look around the square.

Bartender, Won't You Be A Little More Tender?

[info]lupine_scot
Carr had awoken earlier than normal, strangely restless. Well, not so strangely. He'd had nights like that before, and inevitably the next day, a portal opened and someone came through. Since he'd been awake, it hadn't seemed worth lazing about all morning. He'd opened up the inn early, making sure he had a note of which rooms were in use, opening up a couple more in the inn, just in case whoever came through wanted to stay there until they got themselves settled.

That done, he settled at one of the tables outside the door, enjoying the morning sunshine and reading a book someone had left on the bench.
