Vala felt like she had been walking for hours and she was no closer to finding Eric than she had been when she started. For all she knew, Eric could be purposefully avoiding her or any other number of things. Sighing, Vala sat down on the nearest stump to figure out where she was.
She was fairly good with direction and if she had the night sky above her she was able to findher way out of just about anything. Lucky enough for her, she had been awake during the night on the Folly more than she had during the day and was very familiar with the star pattern. Looking up, Vala figured out which way she needed to go and turned, heading back out of the woods. There was nothing she could do for Eric now and it was getting colder by the minute.
After a few minutes of walking, she emerged out of the woods at the edge of the Folly square. From there she knew the direct route back to her own home.
