Eric stared at Vala for a long moment, not sure what to say to her revelation. He had never been particularly religious and had long suspected that the gods of his people were a myth, but it had comforted him to think that they might still be out there somewhere, that they might hear him on the rare occasion that he offered up a prayer to them. Suspecting that they didn't exist and knowing for a fact were two completely different things, and he found that he was a bit shocked at the truth. "I see," he finally managed quietly. He glanced away from Vala, his gaze cold and emotionless.
