Edwin looked across the river, considering Chase's suggestion that someone go across first with a flashlight. He also latched onto the fact that Chase was apparently leaving his phone charger, and while he wanted to grab it up, he knew he should save it for emergencies. Or at least wait until he was down to 2% before he asked to use one. He looked back at the two saying their goodbyes, giving a final thought to joining them, but again deciding to continue on to the nature center with this group. It felt more important that someone who actually knew how to use a weapon stayed with this group if Chase and Owen were leaving, even if that weapon was just a crappy prop sword. Pam had the crossbow, sure, but no one actually knew if she knew how to use the thing, and Felix's pan sure wouldn't cut it. Who knew if the actual weapons would even cut it?
He looked across the river again, gesturing for Felix to give him the flashlight that they'd been using. "I can go across first," he offered. "Like you said, I'm tall, so if it's possible to walk across, my head's gonna be the one to stay above the water. Then you guys can do a human chain across, if we have to... The current doesn't look that bad..."
Pam started collecting the things Chase was leaving behind, though with the stuff she was already carrying, she knew she'd pass it off to someone else, once they figured out the best way to get across the river without drowning things. She checked her phone again, as if she was already expecting her first message from Chase and Owen, but was pleased to find a note from Jack, even if it didn't seem like he was headed this way.
