"But be careful anyway," Edwin said after Lennon. He'd kick himself if Owen and Chase found Oliver at one of the markers, but at least then he'd know something, and would feel better saying he'd see him tomorrow. He moved to offer Felix a hand up, debating his own shoe situation. "Are any of your bags waterproof?" he wondered, regretting not being able to grab his own. "We should put our phones and whatever else we need to keep safe away."
Pam rushed to give Chase and Owen another hug before they could leave. "I'll put a comment in my original post when we get to the nature center, and you boys please let me know of your progress and safety either there or in a private message or... Oh, you know how the network works, I don't have to keep going. Be safe, but also, it's okay if you change your minds and decide to come to us again." She made sure that she sounded precise as she commented, hoping that they understood that no one would think less of them for turning back.
Then she turned back to the others who were continuing on to the nature center. "My bag is weather-proof? Which, like, isn't the same as water-proof, but maybe if we're quick we'll be okay. If we put our phone in our shoes, or-- Oh, I don't really want to dump the food, but we do have those tupperwares, if we have somewhere else for the food to go. I guess I could rip up my sheet and we can wrap it, if we need to. I should have grabbed the sheet off the empty bed... What do we think? You all have been out there, right?"
