"I'll go with you," Chase offered without much thought to it, almost feeling relieved as he crouched down to pull what he thought the others could use more out of his back to lessen the weight and make sure they had what they needed.
"Won't know until we try," Felix told Edwin, before his gaze moved immediately to Owen and Chase. Normally he wouldn't particularly care what idiocy they got up to, but less people watching the fort meant more work for him, and a larger chance that he'd have to keep Pam company instead of sleeping. And he'd probably have to play the adult again. No fucking thank you.
"No offense, and I don't want to be the asshole here, but that's kind of a dumb plan," he said, his voice tired but firm. "Even if we knew what was at the markers, it's already after one in the morning. After all the shit it took for us to get here, by the time you even get to any of the markers it's probably gonna be fucking dawn at this point, or close to it, and we've seen the shit that's probably between there and us. Not to mention we don't exactly have flashlight and batteries and whatever else coming out of our asses. And you know they're gonna toss this kind of shit at us again, or the same shit from last night." He sighed, raising a hand to his forehead and rubbing slightly. "You guys are the plan people, so it's up to you, but why don't we just...go to the center, rest up for a few hours, then all go looking at dawn when we know that shit isn't out there anymore."
