Chase didn't want to think about what the markers might have meant, knowing that tossing ideas around at the moment would likely just lead to him getting more anxious about Kiley and where she was. He started to pick up his own gear again, wishing he had a little more time to rest before they got going, but knowing Owen was right. They were going to have to cross the river now, but he didn't know if he should take anything off or just deal with drying things by the fire when they arrived. Considering he probably wouldn't be able to see the bottom in the dark, shoes would likely be better.
It took Felix a second to remmeber what "other markers" Tobias was referring to, and sudden, very clear memory of the body made his stomach lurch a little. He leaned away from Lennon to start drying himself off and put his shoes and socks on, anything to distract him from that particular memory.
"Yeah, I got you when we get there, legs," he told Edwin, a little distracted and focusing on the task at hand, until he realized they were, crossing the river, and promptly pulled his socks back off again, starting to shove them into his bag his time. "I don't remember how high this part of the river gets, do you?"
