"Go back inside," Kiley yelled at Chase, though she doubted he would actually listen. She would attack that thing with a torch before she let it grab Chase again and "Give me the torch," she told Edwin, taking a step back toward the house but not leaving the barrier just yet. The creature was moving away which made her breathe a little better, but she was still filled with adrenaline, ready to take action at the first sign that it might go back toward the house and Chase.
"As long as we stay here, we're okay," Ivy said, though she sounded as if she were trying to convince herself more than the others. Maybe the red stripe on her arm meant it wouldn't harm her again. It was a ridiculous thought, but one she clung to, just to make herself feel slightly safer.
