WHo: Scotty & Dylan
When: Morning, Closer to 11
Where: Marker 5
Scotty regretted not coming out to this crazy canyon before today. It was beautiful. Maybe an eighty foot drop down into water, and a waterfall right at the marker he was supposed to be at. He didn't know who he was finding out here, but he wondered if whoever it was had jumped from the top down into that water, and if that was safe. He really, really wanted to give it a try, and while it was up for debate whether or not he was stupid, he at least knew that jumping eighty feet into water that he didn't know the depth of wasn't his best idea. Climbing on wet rocks didn't sound great, either, and so in the end he'd jogged around the canyon until he found a place that he could get into easy, figuring that he could go back through the canyon to get back to the waterfall.
He hadn't expected the easiest path to be on the complete other side of the canyon, or for it to be so damn long. He also had to swim to get back to the waterfall, and so he left a bunch of the things he'd brought with him on the other side, opting only to bring his knife, in case someone had to be cut free, and a flashlight, which looked waterproof, but he wasn't sure. His shoes, shirt, phone, water bottle, and bag stayed at the other side of the canyon, where they could stay dry.
It was a fucking good thing that he had great stamina, because between the running and the swimming, he was starting to feel the strain by the time he got back to the waterfall. It occurred to him once he was there that he didn't have the GPS to find the missing person anymore, but he'd figure it out.
He checked underwater first, because if someone did jump off the waterfall and drowned, he should probably let someone know about it. Thankfully, no bodies seemed hidden there, at least not any immediately noticeable, and it seemed deep enough that in the future if he did want to do some diving, he was safe. So that was cool.
He moved to the rocks next, feeling a little silly for still having to do some climbing, but fuck, it felt great to be active. A little searching led him under the waterfall, and it almost felt cliche that there was a cave back there, but there it was. Knowing TPTB, this was probably where he was supposed to be.
The cave was narrow, enough that it made him a little nervous to head in, and so he pulled out that flashlight, shining it into the cave to get a better idea of what he was dealing with. It clicked on. Yay waterproof.
"Yo," he called into the cave, shining the beam of light in and looking for any of his housemates. "Anyone in there? Hello? If you can hear me, say something or make some noise!" They'd have to compete with the sound of the waterfall, but it felt like a good first step.
