At the initial exclamation, Jack had to wonder just what that was all about. He wasn't really sure who else might talk about him to the point where it would garner that sort of reaction, except maybe Juno, though she'd been gone just as long as he had...Or maybe Kate. Or Pam? Or Cecilia? Or...okay, maybe it wasn't too weird, particularly when the kitchen was mentioned. He grinned back, not phased when the guy switched hands. He'd seen that bite. "Yep, that's my lady love," he sighed wistfully.
"And no problem," he continued, just as pleasantly, feeling like he was fitting into a familiar niche despite everything else that was going on, and Jerome was hardly the first introduction to a new person he'd ever had. No threats to his safety, no being shoved first into concrete, no sprained shoulder. "All this shit can be super confusing if you haven't been through it already. I think this is probably the fifth or sixth time I've been down here. We had a couple different things in here. They've got a track and stuff on the bottom, and there was kind of an army style course before, and then it was like a giant bouncy house for a while. That one was actually pretty awesome. Usually we wake up on cots in this kind of...locker room area on the main floor, and there are bathrooms and snacks and water and stuff, so this part's new. They always make good on it though. We do the thing, we get to leave."
