Oh, the snowcat. Kiley had almost forgotten about that thing and she nearly sobbed in relief at the idea of someone bringing it down so they could ride back. The walk was tough enough when they were completely healthy, let alone when Chase had a bum foot and she was feeling this shitty herself. Honestly, though, Kiley would have happily stood there in the cold for hours as long as Chase was holding onto her. It was such a mushy thought and made her snort softly to herself, but then she shook her head and pressed a kiss to his jaw before reluctantly pulling away to take his hand. He probably needed Oliver's hand more than she did.
"Take it slow," she told Chase, looking down at his feet. "Is Cecilia still around? You may want her to look at it when we get back to the house, make sure you didn't do any more damage." Kiley squeezed his hand gently.
