Sorry, I gotta stick with coffee here. Grinding beans into something that's fine enough to make a cup of joe doesn't really take that much effort, and you can eat the beans raw without trouble if it comes down to it. It's not really so much about abstaining than knowing the effects that not having it will have on the peeps in the house. I don't really feel comfortable with the idea of all of us trying to deal with what's going on while going through caffeine withdrawal. Not just that, who knows if we're going to need to stay awake for anything. And coffee is such a basic creature comfort that just having it there is gonna help a lot of people.
Also, no offense, I get where you're coming from, but I don't think anyone wants to eat bananas every day. Their nutritional value is great and everything, but the flavor is so distinct, and seeps into whatever you put them in, that they're not really all that versatile with the other ingredients we're picking. I don't really think they'll do much good when people just don't want to eat them after a few days. Maybe that's just me though, obviously this is a group thing so if people want bananas we'll go with bananas?
