Gym, evening, Urquhart OTA/MW
Urquhart did his serious training by himself, of course. He didn't want people to do see what he could really do.

But for a regular light work-out, just to make sure he moved every muscle in his body every day, the semi-public gym in the first basement was good enough.

So he was there, humming to himself while he was on the stair-climbing machine, going up an imaginary skyscraper.

Granger appeared on the tredmill beside Urquhart with the bright green earbuds attached to the ipod in the pocket of his work out pants already dangling from his ears. He smiled and nodded at the fella that seemed quite determined to scale an invisible mountain and started his own machine at a leisurely jog at first.

Sometimes a guy just had to take it easy.

Still, after a few moments Granger's inkling to be friendly overtook him and he found himself dropping one earbud to turn and smile at the man with teeth that were just slightly crooked. "Have you ever seen Lost in Translation?"

Urquhart didn't have an iPod; he didn't like the idea of shutting the input of one of his senses in any situation. Not even while working out.

"No, I didn't," he said, smiling at the stranger in a friendly way, trying to be as non-grim as you could be while 6 foot 5, and built like a brick shithouse. "Is it worth it?"

Granger chortled. "Well... I'm not sure it's the sorta movie I would've watched on my own had a lady not pointed me in that direction, but it's got Bill Murray," he offered since that was the explanation the girl had offered him at the time, then pointed to the machine the other man was using. "Anyway, there's a scene involving one of those things that's pretty funny."

He waved his hand. "Bill Murray got so serious after the eighties."

"Well, and he did some really strange movies," Urquhart said. "Ever seen 'Rushmore'?"

He kept moving.

"I'll have to seek out the other one; should be easy to find. I somehow seem to have missed it."

When that movie was in the theatres, Urquhart had been busy vanishing from the psychiatric ward of an army hospital in Edinburgh, and then getting a name for himself in his new profession as a contract killer. Movies had been low on his list of priorities.

"Rushmore was pretty strange," Granger agreed. "I haven't seen it in years, but from what I can remember it was pretty bizarre. He also did Life Aquatic which was horrible, but The Royal Tenenbaums was pretty awesome in a strange way. His role in that wasn't too big."

Granger sped up just a little, then cleared his throat and continued to talk. "He made Zombieland, though, which is my favorite movie in a good few years."

"Darjeeling Limited," Urquhart said. "From the same crazy bunch that did 'Rushmore', with added India."

By then, Urquhart had no longer shied away from seeing places (even in movies) that reminded him, or from hearing people speak Hindi/Urdu.

"I've been meaning to see that one," Granger said with a nod. "It looked interesting. That's got what's his face in it, right? The tall skinny fella that was in The Pianist."

"Adrien Brody," Urquhart said. "Yes. And Owen Wilson, that goofy funny blond guy. It's really interesting in a majorly bizarre way."

"Ah, that's right," Granger said with a nod. "Adrian Brody. He's good. And Owen Wilson? Huh. You know, I always was a bit more partial to his brother's movies, even though Owen always got the bigger roles. You know, Luke did the movie Idiocracy. Which was genius. Ever seen that one? It's from the same people that made Office Space."

"No, I didn't," Urquharrt said. "Wasn't the brother in Royal Tenenbaums, too? Odd thing how often you get brothers doing movies, though."

"It really is," Granger said after thinking about it. "You have to wonder if it was the parents pushing them into it, or if one got in and got the other a break too." He thought a second more. "Though, with those two... They're sort of quirky. I can't imagine they had the 'pageant mom' or whatever."

"I guess it's something they can get into together when they're growing up," Urquhart said. "You often get brothers making movies -- the Coens, the Wachowskis, the Farellys, the Zuckers..."

"Good point," Granger said with a nod. "I've always been a Coen fan. Though the Big Lebowski is my favorite, though I think that's more of an acquired taste. They hold Big Lebowski bowling conventions, which I think is pretty awesome." He smiled again at the other man. "I bet you've been to a few of those," he joked, since this big fella looked like he went around crushing steel oil drums with his bare hands for a living.

Andy slipped in quietly as the two men chatted and got busy with one of the other treadmills. Walking pace until she warmed up then she speeded it up to a steady trot.

Urquhart had noticed her, of course, when she slipped in; and when he stopped chatting to Granger, he shifted himself to a stationary bike near her treadmill.

"Evening," he said, quite cheerfully.

"How's tricks?" he asked, smiling at her.

"I think I've got my bike almost in working conditions again," Urquhart said. "But I found I'd been crouching, with my face in the engine, for hours, so I better get some exercise so the muscles don't seize up."

Which will never do.

"A little regular exercise is a good thing," Andy agreed. "For instance, I still need to be able to run a set distance with a twelve stone man on my back. It' been a while since I did it but ..."

"Charlie?" Andy snickered. "He's ten and a half soaking wet. And yeah, there's been a time or two where I've given him a piggy back, just to prove a point." And vice versa.
