Gabe was finally feeling more human and not like death had warmed over and so had gotten dressed in jeans and a soft blue t-shirt and headed down to the Mocha. He was now curled in one of the armchairs, sipping a huge sugary coffee and checking email on his phone, only the occassional sniff any sign that the cold still hadn't left completely.

***

Jason sat at his usual table - where he could see all - and took the time to enjoy his coffee and bagel before he had to head to the front desk.

***

There was a shipment coming in this morning and Kara needed to be at the Lamb to receive it but she had a bit of time for coffee and one of the Mocha's huge chocolate chip muffins first and was enjoying that at a table near the window.

***

Max had a meeting at ten - which meant there was time for coffee first. He sat at a table looking through the paper while Micah stood in line to get their drinks.

***

Just outside the Mocha, in the gardens, Loki prowled - annoyed. Dressed in tight black jeans, combat boots, and a black singlet his pale skin seemed to glow against the dark ink of his various Nordic tattoos and the sunlight made his hair look like angry fire - matching his mood.

She cuddled the puppy as it whimpered, soothing and reassuring it that Loki wouldn't hurt her.

"Quite content here lately." She told him, thinking about how when she answered fine it was usually to just stop the question from progressing. Erin knew enough to not press on if he didn't want to elaborate.

"Content in domestic bliss," Loki sneered and there was no mistaking the tone. "How quaint."

Erin raised her brow as she nodded. "Should I not be content with one man that makes me the center of his world?" She wasn't going to flat out call him jealous, but he sounded the part.

Loki raised a brow back.

"Why be content with one man when you could have several?"

"Why mean so little that no one man can commit to me?" She countered his question with a question of her own.

"Who said anything about meaning so little?" Loki replied. "Would you rather have one man committed to you - or many?"

"It isn't fair." She said lightly. Being in a committed relationship usually meant giving everything to the person you were in it with. She couldn't give everything to many since she was only one.

Loki laughed.

"Life isn't fair. It would be horribly boring if it was. I'll take many kneeling at my feet over one any day."

And he had. Lots of times.

Erin shrugged. "Then I guess I'm horribly boring." Or that's how things were sounding, from his perspective. She didn't know why she was feeling like this contradiction, all twisted up around him. She had what she wanted, Erin told herself as she ran her hand over Amelia's body.

He moved behind her and bent to whisper in her ear.

"Oh but you aren't," he purred. "Or you weren't." He curled a strand of her hair around one long pale finger. "The things I could do for you, Erin - things he can never dream of. You deserve to be worshiped by mortal men. A goddess."

She shifted away from his closeness. "That's the thing though, Loki. I don't want to be worshiped by a whole hoard of men. One is enough for me. Callan makes me happy."

"Pity," Loki said, stepping away. "Don't know what you're missing."

She cuddled the puppy in her lap as she sighed. If he thought she didn't know what she was missing... She thought feeling a little sorry for him now.

"Well that's okay isn't it lil' girl? Daddy doesn't like me being friends with him anyway." She said softly as she stood up and took Amelia back inside.

Loki's slightly manic laugh followed her, and if his voice did as well - despite being to far away - well that was one of the perks of being him.

"Submissive doesn't suit you."

He wondered how long it would be before he got a visit from her man. He looked forward to it.
