Slaughtered Lamb, evening, anyone? OTA/MW
The Lamb was never exactly quiet but Wednesday was one of its slightly less busy nights and there were a few free tables and the dartboard was free.

Charlie came in and looked around, waved to Molly and headed for the bar. "Hello sweetheart," he said. "Happy thhhhhhinko da mayo. Guiness please. Ah - and one for my friend here. What're you having?"

Sterrin sat at the bar in a black cotton dress that clung to her figure and a pair of black platform cork sandals that laced up to her calves, sipping on a Corona with lime. She was sitting close to her brother, but not too close. As it should be.

Urquhart left the dartboard and walked towards her.

Sterrin felt someone behind her and she glanced over her shoulder and smiled.

"Hello, stranger," she said as she turned around a bit more. "Enjoying yourself?"

"I missed playing darts," Urquhart said, coming closer and sitting down beside her.

He was tall enough that he didn't have to climb on bar stools, but could simply sit.

"Darts, eh?" she said as she turned a bit more to see the board, then glanced back at him and smiled.

"Have you been positively dominating all competition?"

"No competition," Urquhart said. "I've just been playing by myself."

"All the better, right?" she said as she took a sip of her beer. "So, have you been routinely holding up that wall in Vine Square?"

"It is a rather lovely wall," she agreed and chuckled a bit. "What are you drinking? My treat."

"Guinness," Urquhart said, smiling. "Dorothy Sayers said it's good for you."

She laughed. "And we believe Dorothy Sayers, down't we? Another Guiness for my friend here," she said and patted Urquhart's arm. "So,still passing slowly, yes?"

"Of course we do, she's a classic," Urquhart said. "Thanks. And yes, I am. At less-than-snails pace, at the moment. There's such nice walls in the City."

He grinned at her.

"To say nothing of the women."

Sterrn chuckled.
"So complimentary," she teased and then slid his beer to him when it arrived.

"You're welcome. So, what else has been up?" she asked as she sipped at her own beer. "Surely a man like yourself gets tired of holding up walls on occasion?"

"I took a broken pot to be mended," Urquhart said, and sipped his beer.

Sterrin's brows arched, momentarily befuddled, and then she laughed.

"Slow it down, chief. You don't want to burn yourself out too quickly with all that partying," she teased.

"It's a special pot," Urquhart said, "mending it is a special craft, and it can only happen in very special places."

"Well I'm glad you got that taken care of," Sterrin said with a nod. She didn't know much about special pots, but if it was a big deal to him it was good he'd found a place. "There's a little of everything in the City."

Sterrin gave a little fist pump as she took a drink of her beer.

"If it's one thing I'm always down with, it's specialists in a field," she said and smiled at him.

"I've never owned any special pots," Sterrin said after a moment of searching her memory. "But if I did, I'd definitely want a specialist to look at it if it broke."

"I don't own that potter, either," Urquhart said. "It's a red-figured kylix belonging to a collector I know which I accidentally broke last autumn. When I found the expert here, I had him send it to me so she could restore it. It wasn't exactly exported quite legally from Greece, so he couldn't just go anywhere with it."

"Ooooh," she said and waved a hand in front of her face. "Now see, you save all the underhanded and illegal activity for last. I knew there had to be a catch somewhere with you," she teased.
