Pool house, all day, Talk Like A Pirate Day! Everyone welcome
Technically they shouldn't have put it in the pool, but the Manor could afford to replace it if necessary and it had to be admitted that a genuine floating pirate ship was a lot more fun than one on the grass.

Nick tied it off securely at one side of the pool so the prow was in the shallow end and the stern over deep water for jumping in, and wondered who would be the first to find it. There were plenty of posters up, that was for sure.

"I thought you might have given up the shirt by now," Ang patted his cheek lovingly, the small wriggling child held firmly in the other arm, "but if you're done, let's go swimming!"

She didn't exactly run off to the pool, but Gavin was more than keen, so she walked a little faster than normal, he was a lot easier to manage in the water. Of course, getting in without losing control of said wriggling child, well, she'd worked that out, she sat on the poolside, right at the shallow end, and then just slid off the edge into the water. Gavin squealed excitedly and started splashing right away. "Alec! Help!" Ang chuckled, while holding Gavin at arm's length, "He's drowning me!"

	Alec stood on the edge of the pool and laughed, "Every man and woman for himself." But then he hopped in to rescue her anyway, taking the brunt of the geyser as he reached for Gavin. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"Oh he's such a water baby, don't you think? We should up his sessions in the pool. He just adores it up here." Ang grinned, wanting so much for Gavin to enjoy swimming, but for Alec to have fun too. So far it looked quite successful. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"But he'll be able to swim and that is such an important life skill. An early confidence booster, teaches coordination, works every muscle in the body, encourages good lung control, should I go on?" Ang chuckled, "Besides, it's fun as well as good for him."

She reached out for Gavin, and settled him back against her, using her hands to control his arms, and making more definite swimming motions with them. He was already good at kicking his legs, and the splashing continued, if somewhat lessened.

	Ang swam round them a few times, playing peek-a-boo with Gavin from behind Alec. "Don't swallow the water then, and it won't be doing anything to your insides, honestly sometimes I wonder about you," she chuckled, "so clever and strong, and yet you worry about the daftest things." "That's true, but I can use you as a shield now, and besides, it doesn't take both of us, I want to check out the inflatable, see if it would be safe for him? Or would you rather do that?" Ang smiled, one arm reaching round Alec to tickle Gavin just under the float jacket. "You like swimming don't you Gavin? Yes, you do!"

Gavin gurgled happily and kicked his feet some more.

"Spoilsport, it might need both of us to keep little legs here under control, are you sure you wouldn't like to come bounce, even just a little?" Ang was enjoying teasing Alec, it wasn't something she'd felt up to doing most evenings this week, Craig and John were so pleased to have her back at her desk, they'd been overloading it somewhat. She'd come home tired and not feel up to much.

"I think you should go investigate, even if it's just to keep an eye on him while he explores?"

"Well in that case, I'll be right back, once I'm sure it's safe enough for him, and um, then I'll take him on board I think, let him have a bit of a bounce?" She smirked, "Of course, he might prefer to stay in the water, but, I'm sure we can find a way of making sure he has fun wherever?"

She chuckled softly, and leaving Gavin safe in his father's arms, she swam off quickly to board the pirate ship.
