Stone's apt; Tuesday night; Stone and Lara
Lara woke up by herself, which wasn't all that unusual as of late. But then she cracked her eyes open and remembered that she wasn't alone in her bedroom. She was alone in Stone's bedroom. And he didn't hate her anymore. That was good. But he still wasn't there. Lara could vaguely remember him getting up at some point, but that could have also been a dream. She wasn't sure.

She picked up her head to check the clock for the time. It was almost 6:30. She'd been asleep for a while. Leaning up like that was exhausting, so Lara dropped her head back onto the pillow and stared up at the ceiling.

Yeah, but still! It was embarrassing in Stone's eyes. It was like...it was his Mandy Moore! His ultimate guilty pleasure. Or something.

He nodded. "Okay," He said before he dumped the pitcher into a waiting pan that had extra oil in it to heat it. He dumped the pasta into the boiling water too and then attempted to clean up as much as he could while that stuff was cooking.

	Then his guilty pleasure was a lot more productive than Lara's. She walked over, not too far from him, but not too close that she was in the way. "Need any help?" she asked, arching her eyebrows a little. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

More productive and tastier. Than candy. There, he said it. Or thought it anyway.

He turned from putting some dishes into drain board. He grinned a little. "Just about down." he told her, feeling a little awkward and wondering if they were supposed to just go back to normal or something.

He did step closer to kiss her forehead and then had to turn around to turn the boiling water down before it spilled over. He had to stir the pasta after that. "Want to get some bowls? And drinks?" he asked so he didn't have to turn down her offer to help.

	Lara was still kind of shocked that Stone was willing to kiss her forehead, but that didn't mean she wasn't grateful. It took her a moment before she realized he'd told her what he needed. "What? Oh. Yeah, sure." She nodded a few times before turning around to go to the right cabinet. She glanced over her shoulder at Stone. "What do you want to drink?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Yeah well, he had to do something to try and break through the awkward stuff right? And they had just been sleeping together - in the literal, asleep in bed, sense - so a forehead kiss wasn't really out of line right?

"Iced tea," He decided after her turned the heat off for the pesto so it wouldn't burn. A couple more minutes and the pasta would be done so he could stuff everything into some dishes and put the dirty stuff in the sink and finally eat. His stomach was rumbling.

	"Gotcha." Lara pulled down two glasses and carried them over to the counter by the refrigerator. After filling one up with iced tea and the other with water, Lara moved onto the bowls. She glanced at Stone more than a few times as she did all of this, in need of confirmation that he was actually there and she wasn't just imagining it. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

He was indeed actually there, but he was a total dork and caught up in the cooking. So he didn't send too many glances her way so that he didn't burn himself or ruin the food. Eventually he drained the pasta, filled up some bowls for them and covered them in the pesto.

He dug out a tray and loaded the bowls into it so that he could get a couple more bowls for the three bean salad, which he pulled out of the fridge while his ears turned a little more red. Once they wre full and he had proper utensils on the tray, he picked it up and turned to Lara, arching his eyebrows to see if she was ready to head to the dining room. His stomach grumbled.

Lara grabbed the glasses and gave Stone a nod. As they headed out to the dining room, she wondered what was up with all the blushing. The food preparation seemed pretty normal to her, but then again that could have just been because of dreamland. Regardless, it probably had to do with their extreme awkwardness problem at the moment. Which was her fault and it sucked.

Once they were in the dining room, Lara put the glasses down on the table.

It was sort of the awkwardness, also the non-dreamland factor. Also...he made three bean salad. That was totally gay. Seriously. Also? She was going to find out in a few minutes that his three bean salad? Totally trumped Agrarian's. They might have good dip, but Stone had good three bean salad - and he wasn't even a hippie! Or gay. Or, y'know, into health food.

Anyway, he set the tray in the middle of the table and then set one of each bowl in front of each of their settings, followed by the utensils. Then he sat down. "I dunno how hungry you are...I'm starving though," Which wasn't exactly unusual.

	"I'm pretty hungry," Lara said once she sat down, not mentioning the part where she'd been eating very little over the past couple of weeks. She pulled her bowl over and looked down into it. "Three bean salad?" she asked, looking over at him. She was looking for confirmation, not looking to make fun of him. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"Good," He said as he reached for his fork, deciding to start with the pasta first. He wasn't sure if she was just asking or making fun of him. His ears turned a little red again and shifted in his seat before he nodded. "Yep," He answered with a sheepish tiny smile. "I hope that's okay. I was rummaging on an empty stomach. 	Stone was a large forkful into his pasta already when she thanked him. So he nodded as he finished chewing and then swallowed. "You're welcome." He answered with a small smile as he reached for his iced tea. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Stone tried to keep his ears from turning anymore shades of red at the praise and just tried to shrug it off with a thank you or two. He fell quiet too so he could eat since his stomach was getting impatient with his slowness. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	The rest of the meal stayed quiet, but Lara didn't mind so much. Eating a quiet meal with Stone was leagues better than snacking on something as she moped around alone in the bedroom. Not surprisingly, Stone finished his food before Lara. She was only a few minutes behind, however. Once she was finished, she set her fork down on her plate. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Stone enjoyed those extra few moments though because it gave him time to slouch back, finish his drink and relax, patting his now full stomach and letting out a sigh or two. He needed to make the three bean salad more often. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Yes, he did. Lara looked over at Stone and let out a slow breath of air. She still couldn't get over how crazy it was that she was here with him and he was making her food. 	Lara blinked and focused a little better on Stone. "What? Yeah," she nodded, straightening up to boot. "I'm like, more than okay." It was true, but it was still a little difficult for her to give Stone an assuring smile. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Once she was on her feet, he let go of her hands and pulled her to him by her waist. He leaned over and kissed her temple before he leaned his forehead against hers. He wanted to ask her if she was sure she was okay but didn't want to push it too much. So he just hugged her instead. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Stone returned the tiny smile and kissed her forehead before he leaned his against hers again after nodding. He moved his arms around her waist and folded them at the small of her back. Stone arched his eyebrows when she looked at him. He nodded. "Yeah," He said. "Sure we can." He nodded again and moved to kiss her forehead. He kind of didn't want to let her go at the moment, but he did, at least with one arm. H kept the other one around her waist and started to lead the way back to his room. He leaned over and kissed the side of her head as they went too.

Stone sat down on the bed and watched Lara for a moment before he pulled just his pants off. He left his shirt on too and then moved the covers to straighten them out before he moved to lay down. He moved to prop up some pillows so he could set himself up in a half sitting position and grabbed the remote from his nightstand to flip the TV on since he felt a little restless.

	Lara folded her jeans and put them neatly on the floor. She climbed into bed and laid down next to Stone. After adjusting her pillow, she settled in and put her arm over him. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Stone lifted his arm once Lara settled and moved it around her. He held the remote up toward her. "If there's nothing on we can find a DVD or something," He suggested as he gave her the chance to pick. He wasn't really thinking about the fact that the fingers of the hand from the arm around her were moving through her hair. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	It was nice. Lara moved a little closer to Stone and closed her eyes. "Whatever you want to watch is fine," she told him. She really didn't care. She probably wouldn't be paying attention to whatever was on anyway. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Stone nodded. "Okay," He said, and after randomly channel surfing for a few minutes, managed to find a lame marathon of sci-fi b movies. He put the remote down and turned his head to kiss the top of Lara's and then kept moving his fingers through her hair just because. Things weren't going to be perfectly fixed and all but right now he just wanted to lay there with her and do his own mental worrying...while half paying attention to horrible old alien movies.

	Stone let is fingers keep moving through her hair for awhile. He watched Lara and the screen and then eventually he flipped the TV to one of the music channels and turned it down low before he settled in. It took him awhile to fall asleep, even though he was feel more comfortable with Lara here. It was strange to think about that. Sleep was welcome for once. (Reply to this) (Parent)
