it has been argued that originality no longer exists. that we have long since tapped out anything new and that we are all just rehashing the same script over and over again. others, however, say that originality is not in the text of the story but in how the story is told. but how many ways can a story be told? eventually lines will be crossed and any definition of originality is drowned under the sea of hivemind imagination. we gravitate towards what we know anyhow, so its safe to assume that even if originality could be reached we are blocking ourselves from searching into the deepest darkest hells of our minds.
