I found this a few days ago after Beau and I were talking about art museums. What an interesting visual commentary on our views and preference of the female figure, past and present. I much prefer the original forms myself. What do you think? Do you find one more appealing than the other? Or do you feel like the difference isn't so much?
Can I also ask for some help on a sonnet I wrote for my Shakespeare class? Adam provided the excellent suggestion of writing on something that sparked my curiosity. I went walking and the thought struck me: looking at the numerous budding and blooming plants, I thought they were captivating. But I wondered, too, about that which we do not see: the tree underneath; the roots.
Anyway, I'm very unhappy with this unrevised piece. I don't like iambic pentameter and probably failed at it. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. It would mean a lot to me...five counts...so thanks.Or something.
I am a tree of only seed and roots Without the sun upon my foliage – A kingdom underneath the blackened soot; A buried thorn; a sage of night’s mirage. You are a garden blossomed all year round. The winter’s gust would never shake your limbs, For color stays the monarchy you crowned And rainbow buds do open, glowing, slim. Young glory tints the shelter of your leaves Whilst I drink of the sky’s grey tears and grow. Equal in strength, but beauty you bereave From me, and bask in semblance lush, aglow. And I as roots will brace your muddy feet For eyes of man to glimpse your floral treat.
