I've never had much of a problem with fireworks, but this may be getting a bit out of control. I haven't been sleeping well as it is. And the dorms echo well during the evening when everyone is in.

While I am aware that there is some appeal in being surrounded by fireworks - lovely, colorful and attention grabbing: or whatever else you choose to see it as, I'll pretend to understand - they have a nasty habit of appearing at the most inopportune of moments. Furthermore, when I turn out the lights and opt for a moment of quiet solitude I do not appreciate that they decide to brighten the room. This had better end soon.
As if it being summer isn't horrendous enough - this too.

It has been brought to my attention that Nikki's birthday is fast approaching and it has been expressed that a party must be had - sometime between the 12th and 18th of August.
I'm not finalizing anything yet, as it is still a month away: however, I am aware that it is summer and vacations are often taken during this break and thought it'd be prudent of me to give fair warning to everyone.

These fireworks are making me CRACK UP. The other night I thought I ran out of booze, which was very sad, as it was fueling a bad movie marathon, starting with SUSPERIA, God help me for finishing that one... I was only halfway through some scifi movie about a dinosaur and aztecs when I THOUGHT I ran out!!! Somehow, in the back of my fridge, behind some moldy oranges, was a brand new bottle of pinot noir. BAM fireworks as I found it. Coincidence? I THINK NOT. Thank you universe for confirming how awesome of a find that truly was.
Also, I've been MIA, and I apologize, but classes....I'm really trying.

Anybody else's children have anything to say about the fireworks? India was in hysterics for the first ten minutes, but when she relaxed we played Harry Potter for the rest of Sunday afternoon. If she doesn't discover she's an incarnate, she'd make an excellent witch. And just last month she'd told me she was too old for magic. Some of these events aren't so bad.

I never knew that opening up a bottle of top shelf liquor was cause for explosive fireworks. I never knew that someone getting the guts to sing a song was cause for property damage to my place of business.
Thankfully I found a contractor, but then more fireworks went off! I think I should ask the contractor to wait till after these spontaneous fireworks stop.
Unfortunately this means that the Empty-Orchestra-Ya will be closed until further notice. Two weeks at the most.

Tēnā koutou, It's been far too long since I've been to the States or anywhere that wasn't New Zealand. First I'd like to say I'm proud of my heritage and have a tendency of using our words, though not to the extent of my sister. Hopefully a few of you will catch on quick.
I'm the new professor of Sports Science, Track and Field Coach, as well as taking over the position as Faculty Adviser to the Cross-Country club. For anyone involved in those you will know me as Professor or Coach Harrop, but I prefer Alex.
I'm sure like all college students you don't fully trust the faculty, but I try to keep grounded and completely understand that it is your duty as college students to do stupid things. Just, if you're in Track or Cross-Country or my classes even, try to make it on time and fully capable. I don't need a hungover student attempting to run when they're severely dehydrated from the night previous. That doesn't mean you can skip the practice or class, that just means I need to be told and I will find something else for you to do until you're head is on straight.
Anyone who thinks they're quick come find me and we'll see about making you a real winner.
On the reincarnated note, yes, I'm well aware of who I was and yes, like many here, I was a Greek. That's all you get to know.
