I've heard talk that some people want to go help with the wildfire situation in Colorado Springs. I was wondering if I shouldn't go too. Not to put out the fires, I have nothing to offer there. But to help evacuees, perhaps. Provide aid at the shelters. They need all the help they can get, don't they?

Tomorrow after my evaluation, I'm getting the fuck out of here for a little while. I've got some money saved, so I'll use that on the off chance that I wish to stay at a motel, or something.
I am so angry, so disgusted by people at the moment. I want to tell them off, but to do so would make me psychotic or some shit. So I'm leaving for somewhere, no idea where, but maybe to a place where I won't have someone wanting to perform a mental evaluation on me, because I breathed the wrong way.

Not trying to steal that guy's thunder, but for anyone looking to help out with the Colorado Fires, this is a good place to start. While it's easy to get swept away in your passion to help others, please be smart about it. If some of you are hesitant because you can't offer time (I know a handful are still involved with classes or simply can't venture out to volunteer for other reasons) or money, there's a helpful list on the right-hand side of the page asking for items needed (even neatly separated into high priority and general needs) and the status of center openings.
Anyone venturing out to help, please be safe!

So I probably shouldn't be surprised that a bunch of godlings and whatever don't give a crap about an actual emergency happening to people other than themselves, but continuing on from my post from the other day, the wildfires in this state have been declared a fucking federal emergency. So I'm on my way to help out now, and maybe all of you who were so gung ho about "protecting people" last week should maybe think about doing the same. Or donating money or supplies or something, hundreds of homes have been burned to the ground and thousands of people have had to flee their homes.

Students, please note that your assignments are due by 11pm tonight. I expect them all to be in by then, no expectations you have had plenty of warning. That is besides the one person who approached me earlier this week, your due date is Monday morning as discussed. This is due to exceptional circumstances, no other reason and you very well know it will rarely occur.
Remember this assignment is worth 50% of your overall mark. Fail and you fail the subject which I'm positive none of you want. I don't want to teach any of you again. For those who submitted before today, you shall have a surprise next class. It isn't a difficult assignment after all, so I expect all of you to have done brilliant on it provided you know how to use your brain.

I hope the fires weren't started on purpose or because of carelessness. I'm not saying plant life is more than important than human life, but it is sad when nature is burned away. But I know it's going to be beautiful when the plants decide to return.
I have started to wonder about fire management in Colorado. I'm going to look into this.
My garden missed the sun and water since I didn't take care of it last week, but I'm glad it's recovering nicely. I'm looking forward to some BLT sandwiches. And fresh salads.
On another note, I'm enjoying school.

I came early to Montenegro to find an apartment and a job. I thought finding a job would take awhile, but it only took a short week. It's in the Bursar's Office, in Accounts Receivable. They will work around my class schedule, which is nice. I start on Monday. By getting this job, I was able to secure housing. The place is nice, and it has everything I need. So, I am ahead of the game, which is perfect.
I was even able to talk to my advisor and I now have my schedule set up for the fall. I won't talk much about how I feel on this place, but I will say it does feel strange to be back in college. I do like it, though. I'm on the right track now.
Also, I'm Juliette.
I have a question about the safety of the campus. I have heard some stories about what can go down on campus, but this time, I happened to see something more dangerous. My daughter will be with me shortly, so I want to make sure she'll be fine.
