I'd like to turn to a type of song that people like myself find ourselves subjected to with increasing frequency as time goes on, and that is the college alma mater. You'll find yourself at a reunion of grads, and old undergrads, and eh... somebody will start croaking out one of these things and everyone will gradually join in -- each in his own key, of course -- until the place is just soggy with nostalgia. Well, a typical such song might be called Bright College Days, and might go like this. Bright college days, O carefree days that fly, To thee we sing with our glasses raised on high. Let's drink a toast as each of us recalls Ivy-covered professors in ivy-covered halls. Turn on the spigot, pour the beer and swig it, and gaudeamus igit-ur. Here's to parties we tossed, To the games that we lost, We shall claim that we won them some day. To the girls young and sweet, To the spacious back seat of our beat up Chevrolet.

Talk about bright. Glad I've never found anything like that in the bathtub.

It's a shame the school doesn't host some kind of huge scavenger hunt before Sunday. Given our location, it might not be a bad idea--there's some choice hiding places around here.

Missed catching you after class. Hope you didn't make plans for this weekend.

Why celebrate Easter when there is no God? Even if there was, this...pastel-colored little festival you call Easter is atrocious as is.

I quite hope anyone who chooses to participate finds themselves choking on their Easter candy.

I do hope you've had plenty of time to enjoy yourselves without me.

Rest assured, your enjoyment is short-lived, but I may be inclined to...go easy on you if one of you speaks up and tells me where I might find that wretched Ra.

Oh, and guessing who I am isn't mandatory, but highly amusing.

Old Theo has another game for you. It's called 'Help a Poor English Professor Sleep at Night.' I am mature enough to know who I am, to be okay with who I am. I am not looking for an identity. If, by searching and questioning, I discover that I am the Antichrist, pff! What do I care? I have a very famous father and many devotees. These past lives, if they even are that, are of zero importance! All I want is to know who I supposedly was and move on. And sleep.

Here are your clues:

1) I am very good with plants. I help them to grow in some way that even I do not understand.

2) I have a weak form of telekinesis. I can scatter papers with my mind, flutter cloth or hair and, when I concentrate, move slightly heavier objects.

These are not very good clues. I realize this. That's what makes the game a challenge! If you guess correctly, you will be rewarded with my sincerest thanks. The bags under my eyes will also thank you.

(OK, perhaps our preincarnations count for something. I am still miffed that I am not Thor.)

Say that you're going on a first date
Say that you're going on a date but aren't sure whether or not it's a first d
Say you've absolutely no social skills

Hypothetically, where would you take an intelligent, no-nonsense young lady on a first date in Montenegro? I haven't gotten out as much as I should've liked to in the past few years... And, well, I can't hypothetically take her to Ambrosia, can I? Or can I?

Help?

I appreciate not having a roommate for the case of not having to deal with Easter talk if I don't feel the need to celebrate it. I'd rather be Jewish right now, if only I didn't know That really shouldn't stop me I was before I just need religion right now

Of course, I'm not quite so violent about my distaste of the holiday as that last guy to mention it. That just looked like an excuse to get on people's bad sides immediately.

With all this mentioning of Easter, Passover or Ă”stara (whatever) I couldn't resist )

Second chances for the evil. Thoughts?

Every pantheon has their own rotten apple I'm sure (if not more), but can you blame their recent reincarnations for the wrongs they did then? Do you believe that they are different or that they could change? How much of the evil nature that you hated them for before do you think remains in them today?

A personal dilemma. I'm sorry to burden strangers with it, but outside input is desperately welcomed.

I know there are some very strong opinions about Easter and yet, I have to be bothersome and talk about it some more. I don't think I'll be able to get any sleep at all this weekend, I'll be making Easter bunny and egg cupcakes for the twins' classes, plus some for the staff there and then even more for my classes!

Then there are the egg hunts, the elaborate Easter baskets and Easter dinner, etc. My entire family is coming in just for the ham and the Cadbury Egg cake and while it'll be fantastic to see them all, it'll be very busy. So, for those taking part in this celebration - what are your plans?

Hey, there! The boys and I really enjoyed our Sunday with India. I know you have her every other week so I'm guessing this one is out - but on the chance you're going to see her for a few hours, we put together a basket for her.

I can't believe I'm about to do this, dear Father, and dear Jesus please help me.

Just out of curiosity do any of you know of any deities, or mythological figures that might have had the appearance of an unicorn?

You know it's true.

I have to admit one of the things I stupidly love about Easter is the abundance of brunches.

Tomorrow, I have an interview for a per deim job at the hospital walk-in clinic. It's only a few days a month, but it will be nice to interact with the town residents more.

When I went to the store today I got to watch as two grown men fought over a particular basket. It wasn't even the last basket in the store, just the last of that kind. Still, the site was both amusing, and sad. Mostly sad though.

In brighter news, I received a card from a friend of mine.

Mm. Happy Birthday to me.~

Honestly, if it weren't for the fact that my birthday falls during this wonderful time of year, I don't think I would bat an eyelash at it. But I do love April. ♥ It makes me feel...strong. New. Persuasive.

Mmm, anyways, should anyone want to make this birthday girl just a little bit happier on her big day, do feel free to text me sometime. My number is...around, shall we say. ♥

Or don't. I really don't care. Otherwise I will be spending the rest of today between sunny catnaps, and...possibly painting my nails.
