I'd like to turn to a type of song that people like myself find ourselves subjected to with increasing frequency as time goes on, and that is the college alma mater. You'll find yourself at a reunion of grads, and old undergrads, and eh... somebody will start croaking out one of these things and everyone will gradually join in -- each in his own key, of course -- until the place is just soggy with nostalgia. Well, a typical such song might be called Bright College Days, and might go like this. Bright college days, O carefree days that fly, To thee we sing with our glasses raised on high. Let's drink a toast as each of us recalls Ivy-covered professors in ivy-covered halls. Turn on the spigot, pour the beer and swig it, and gaudeamus igit-ur. Here's to parties we tossed, To the games that we lost, We shall claim that we won them some day. To the girls young and sweet, To the spacious back seat of our beat up Chevrolet.

[This post is now blocked from everyone but Tim, Kate, and Jack]

As a courtesy to all parties, please make sure your roommate is in fact not in the room (or at least soundly knocked out) before you engage in any illicit activities, alone or with a partner, in a shared room.

Spring is just around the corner, isn't that exciting? I can't wait till I can start my own personal garden to work in. I know it's terribly late to start thinking about planting some things, but there are still options. My garden won't be as diverse as I'd like, but that's all right. I'll be happy just to have my own, personal space to work. Everything else I need, I suppose I can get from the greenhouses. With the greenhouses, I don't suppose I need my own, personal garden, but you lose a bit of the charm of gardening when you take the risk out of it.

Goodness, I'm rambling aren't I? I came here to introduce myself and instead I start going on about gardening. Let's try this again.

My name is Amelia Lalaine, I'm a new culinary arts instructor. If you take my class, please call me Amelia. Ms. Lalaine sounds so formal, and when you're working with food, formality just tends to get in the way. The same goes for the members of the Gardening Club. Actually, that goes for anyone, really. If you run into me, please just call me Amelia. If you want to call me Ms. Lalaine, I guess you can, I'll still answer you, but you really don't have to. Feels a bit fancy for my tastes.

How much does original lives matter now? Like, do you still consider your spouse still your spouse? Are you children still your children? Parents? Siblings? Do they mean anything to you now?

On a less philosophical note, I finished my dress sketch that I'm going to make this semester. Yay! :D

I just spent way too much money on the Barney's website.

Something happened and it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. /cryptic

I also have a question:

How many of you have told others who you really are? I'm just wondering if it's better to hide behind Emma or stand out as the Greek I am.

What's your favorite s c a r y movie?
We just watched this one ↑

it's called b∑g∅ttEn. Apparently that thrashing fellow is supposed to be God, but...we don't really get the symb∅lism. Particularly when he disembowels himself.

Huh. I don't think we'll be bothering with that one again.
