Over the course of my years of teaching, I have stolen (or taken home and never bothered to return) three books.
-The Trial, by Franz Kafka
-Siddhartha, by Hermann Hesse
-The Elements of Style, by William Strunk.
Occasionally, I get very attached to books, and well, I couldn't bear to part with these particular three, for various reasons. This little confession of mine, however, prompts a question in my mind that I think would do well to be shared with the lovely students and faculty.
What books are you attached to? Is there any particular piece of literature that you would...say, bring with you if you were stranded somewhere? I could personally read anything by Kafka forever. Even his journals are interesting.
