Characters in dorm housing have to obey housing rules, but it's the easiest way to meet new people outside of your department and school, besides the network. Roommates can end up being your best friend or your worst enemy, but it's all the luck of the draw. In order to facilitate interaction, there is a max of four singles, per gender, per floor, and they will be distributed in a first come, first serve basis. At the beginning of every term, the housing lottery reassigns every member of housing to a new roommate. This is EASILY the best way to meet new people! PICK THIS ONE.FACULTY HOUSING
Being a professor comes with a fancy set of benefits, including FREE HOUSING. Take advantage of this, professors – this is an awesome way for professors and their families to get to know each other. Children of professors can now live in faculty housing but ONLY with their family. Other options are still open as well, of course. Free housing, what's not to love?OFF-CAMPUS
The most independent of the housing options, but also the loneliest potentially. Your character can basically do whatever they want in their home: keep pets, smoke pot, throw awesome ragers, play hermit for days – but this provides the least amount of opportunity for meeting others that they might not meet otherwise unless you're willing to approach others. We strongly encourage players to consolidate characters into being roommates! In an effort to avoid hermitdom, in the near future we will be posting a list of possible apartment buildings and neighborhoods, and we'll be asking those who live off-campus to assigns themselves to those, so be on the look-out.
