I'd like to turn to a type of song that people like myself find ourselves subjected to with increasing frequency as time goes on, and that is the college alma mater. You'll find yourself at a reunion of grads, and old undergrads, and eh... somebody will start croaking out one of these things and everyone will gradually join in -- each in his own key, of course -- until the place is just soggy with nostalgia. Well, a typical such song might be called Bright College Days, and might go like this. Bright college days, O carefree days that fly, To thee we sing with our glasses raised on high. Let's drink a toast as each of us recalls Ivy-covered professors in ivy-covered halls. Turn on the spigot, pour the beer and swig it, and gaudeamus igit-ur. Here's to parties we tossed, To the games that we lost, We shall claim that we won them some day. To the girls young and sweet, To the spacious back seat of our beat up Chevrolet.

Hey kids, this will be one of two mod posts to come. Regarding the last mod post, we have some updates, if you could please ( take a look! )

mod note - summer plotting! [03 Aug 2012|04:35am]

We have an upcoming summer festival! This will take place next week on the 14th, the day after summer classes end -- and one day before the event, oops. It will take place in the field outside the Sports Complex, and will be partly within the Sports Complex as well. Only two things are set in stone at the moment: that the school will hire a DJ (we're sorry), and that there will be a stage for anyone soloists/bands/dancers/what have you who'd like to perform in front of their peers.

Consider this a sign up post for all characters who would like to be a part of this! Really, if your character wants to operate something, it can be anything -- short of a roller coaster. That might not end well. Be it a stand, a game, a workshop (held indoors), your character(s) can volunteer for anything. Students can set up their own tables as well, as long as they register with Student Council. Bake sales (a limit of 4)? Crafts? Pieces of art? You name it, you can have a table. We may even draw up a map. Maybe.

Posters for the festival will have gone up on the 1st, posted up all around campus. Auditions for interested performers will be held on the 6th! Auditions will take place in the arts building. Please comment here if you'd like your character(s) to be a part of something. If something is too out there, we may ask for an alternative, but most things should go! All events going are expected to be finalized by the 10th by StudsCo.

It's Emma! With Sir Pelleas! He is Désirée's twin brother! And yes, he used to be her husband in a former life, but it's complicated and he has no plans on telling her that. Ever. Never ever. His application can be found here and blah, blah, blah he does a lot of sports (MMA, lacrosse, soccer and captain of the water polo team). And now for the most intersting part, his powers!
Fearless: As a knight, Sir Pelleas was known for his bravery and the same could probably be said for Marc. Probably because he doesn't feel fear. At all. Whatever instinct humans have to tell them when they should be afraid, Marc seems to lack it. Some people might think this is pretty awesome and in some ways, it is. He doesn't feel nervous before a big game or giving a public speech, which is great. But at the same point, he also lacks that fear to tell him things are a bad idea and that is dangerous.

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger: Marc is above normal human abilities. He is stronger and he is faster. His reflexes are better than most and the same goes for his stamina. While it's nowhere near anything of Marvel mutant levels, it certainly does put him at the top over most people. This is the main reason he excels well at sports.
I think that is it as I am tired.
