WHO: Emma [easybreezy] and Levi [blindspot] WHERE: Pure Aloha festival at the Silverton WHAT: A non-date between professor and student? WHEN: Saturday night WARNING: Levi The whole day had been spent agonizing over this. Should she go to the festival with Levi or stay home and hide under the covers in her bed, watching Netflix and eating a pint of Ben and Jerry's? It had been one of the toughest decisions of her young life. Going to class had been awkward enough for her after inviting him out--well, after she'd slipped and called it a date--but she'd gone anyway. Mostly because Noelle had talked her into that. She wasn't sure she could face him for the actual event, though. He'd neither confirmed nor denied that he would view this as a date, which Emma took to mean a denial, of course.
Finally, at the point where she was cutting it close, Emma forced herself to roll out of bed and get ready. She moped through the process as if she were going to her execution, and not a meet up with her professor. Her inexplicably attractive professor. The one she'd made an idiot out of herself with online. She groaned miserably. Why did she have to proverbially open her big mouth and mention a date with someone she completely believed wasn't interested?
It almost didn't matter what she wore, since he was blind, but she made herself presentable anyway in a white shirt and soft pink skirt. Though that wasn't the ideal outfit for flying, she did have the advantage of being able to control the wind and flying high enough up, so it was fine. Rather than sulking her way through the house and risking questions from Lorelei or even Rhys, Emma left through a window in her room; another benefit of flight.
She paid the admission fee, even though she easily could have flown around it. The festival was in the parking lot of the Silverton, completely outdoors, and she had the benefit of wings and magic. But Emma was a good girl, so she paid her eight dollars entry. Then it was a matter of flying around until she had spotted him, which, since she had spent so much extra time staring at him in class lately, was easy. It made her feel a little creepy, but she was sure he hadn't noticed.
Once she found him, she landed on the pavement nearby, and was sure to make extra sound with her shoes. "So, um...hi," she greeted him awkwardly, already wincing and wishing she had stayed home. Why oh why had she done this to herself instead of telling him that her message had been sent to the wrong person by accident? Oh, hindsight.
